The hotel is located in very nice location that is hard to beat. Upscale restaurants, designer shops around, short walk to the old town district and 2 blocks from the lake. The hotel shows age, but the bathroom was remodeled. The A/C unit kept up with very high temperatures outside. The restaurant in the hotel served very good breakfast buffet and was open for dinners. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful.

The best part of this hotel is the breakfast! Really, really amazing! The rest was not good. The location is central and close to many things, but the road outside the building is super noisy. We did not have a window in our room - it was a door to a shared balcony, and it was very weird hearing other guests hang out there. Since there was no AC and it was super hot, we had to sleep with a slightly open balcony door and a window to get some air but it was super noisy and we did not get good sleep at all. It honestly felt like a student dorm with this sharing style. We paid appx.750usd per night, which is extremely overpriced for what we were getting. If I were to come back to Lucerne, I would try to stay at a hotel with a lake view for a more peaceful sleep. All in all, i believe there are better hotels in Lucerne than this one.

"It is an old grand dame. Do not expect brand new - but boy did it deliver in every way. Beautiful views, maintained trails and gardens, gorgeous pool, insane views! The experience was fantastic."

The next day we went out for a day trip and the cleaning staff probably noticed my 50th bday decoration, so when we arrived I have a birthday cup cake 🎂 and a birthday card for my birthday. ..."
