Room smelled strongly of cannabis. Stained carpets and after booking as a pet friendly hotel we were told no dogs after 1 night. Hotel seems to be run as a kind of emergency accommodation for council services not fit for occupation in my opinion. "Hotel was really lovely! We just had a room which was on the top floor and asked if we could have another fan or the windows to be open more as it was so hot in there. Girl from the bar wrote it down and said she will speak to the general manager but she only works on the bar so couldn’t tell me an answer which was totally fine. "I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. "Staff were by and large very helpful. A request for boiled eggs was treated very poorly at night but at breakfast it was no problem. Room very good but odd bits dusty. Bed large and comfortable.
