Parc Wheeler

This primarily a winter resort adapted to summer, but offering excellent accommodation. About 15 minutes outside Golden up in the mountains, so not really practical to go to have dinner in town. No worries .. the on site restaurant was excellent with Columbian influences. Out waitress was excellent. Good beer too. Note: you should check of the restaurant is open on the nights you are there. I noted that during certain months it is not open everyday.. The rooms are large and comfortable. Buffet style breakfast is available but doesn’t include ‘cooked’ items. You can reheat something resembling omelet in the microwave and a toaster is available. Nespresso machine are available in the rooms. One thing to consider … if you plan to do some hiking or biking from the resort, there are a lot of mosquitoes! We wanted to do an after-dinner walk but we abandoned in less that 5 minutes. Even with bug spray / cream I was bitten several times.

If you enjoy solitude and quiet, this is the perfect place. The cabin was super clean, check in was easy and the staff were beyond friendly.
