Beautiful view, but images are entirely accurate

The view from the property is lovely. The home offers a nice escape from the city. It’s peaceful. Correspondence with the owner was good. The hillside elevator is a huge plus.
However, there are a few things to consider. The home is dated, which isn’t depicted in the photos that suggest a more modern home. The beach isn’t a beach you can swim from or lounge on, but the patio is large. The beach has many large rocks, driftwood logs, metal objects, etc. The pictures show the beach at the lowest tide, which doesn’t last for long.
During our week stay we ran out of hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels and we repaired a clogged sink that also started leaking. There were no linens for the pullout sofa, no blinds in one of the bedrooms, propane for BBQ almost ran out and there were numerous cobwebs throughout.
While most of these issues can be addressed by the owner ensuring the home is adequately setup for the next guest, I do think potential renters should be aware that the images don’t reflect the state of the home. Given the cost of the rental (and the images) I was expecting a higher quality home. One final note, there is a train nearby that can be quite loud in the middle of the night. It didn’t bother us terribly, but it might bother others and this wasn’t mentioned in the description.
I think the home can make for a nice rental for your stay; however, I do think you should have the above knowledge so you know what to expect.
