The staff were very nice, especially the cleaning staff, who cleaned my room extremely well. The halls help make the rooms very quiet. The hotel could offer more of a variety of food but the waffle maker makes up for what’s lacking.

My wife’s birthday was acknowledged with sincerity, not script — a detail that matters more than any amenity. Patterson Kitchen + Bar Dinner at Patterson Kitchen + Bar was the highlight. The kitchen cooks with confidence: balanced seasoning, clean execution, and a sense of place in the ingredients. Hotel Hartness is a property that understands modern Southern hospitality: understated luxury, genuine warmth, and a culinary program that stands on its own. For a birthday getaway, it was exactly right.
