Staff was kind and the area is pretty convenient between beaches in Ipanema & Copabana. They changed towels everyday which I wasn’t expecting and thought was nice. (899 reviews) We arrived to be given an accessible room which we had not asked for and didn’t want. It also had a tiny corner balcony. We were told there was no alternative other than a twin room. We had paid a lot of money for king room with a sea view. The bar and pool area get very busy and you have to ask for a table each time even as a guest - they have a rope to cordon off the area. Most staff were lovely but on a couple of occasions became aware of staff talking about us and laughing at us. The rooms are getting a little tired and housekeeping only seem to do the bare minimum. We had a storm one night which bought dirt and debris onto the balcony. This wasn’t mopped for the rest of the time we were there. A huge shout out to the guys that greet you when you arrive at the entrance. A lovely warm welcome - they were wonderful.
