I booked a stay at La Marin Hotel in July 2026 based on how it was advertised. However, when we arrived to check in, we were told that our booking was actually for their sister hotel, La Petite Marin, located around the corner and about a 4–5 minute walk away. This came as a complete surprise, as there was no mention of this during the booking process or anywhere in the confirmation email. We were given a room key and told to use it to access the building, as La Petite Marin has no reception desk. We eventually found our room on the first floor, but it was nowhere near what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The room overlooked the back of a residential estate and a row of dustbins. The soundproofing was extremely poor—we could clearly hear other guests flushing their toilets and the lift operating throughout the day and night. To make matters worse, breakfast was only served at the main La Marin Hotel, meaning we had to walk back there every morning. We had booked a three-night stay but checked out after just one night. The only reason we stayed that first night was because we arrived too late in the evening to find alternative accommodation. I would not recommend staying here. It certainly isn't cheap, so I wouldn't even suggest it as a budget option. The biggest disappointment was being moved to a completely different property that was never disclosed at the time of booking. Overall, I would rate this property 2/10.
