"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

"Nice pool , good breakfast, quiet location. Helpful managers, excellent restaurant on site Our room #128: shower head clogged-had to use hand held. Slow drain and small shower cubicle wirh no curtain: flooding on floor everytime we showered . Dont stay in room 128. Our AC kept our room cool, however everyday we would leave and the housekeeper would open the patio doors and leave them unlocked. We reported this to management. Air conditioner from above floor dripped onto our patio right next to...

Top Rizikas Hotel Reviews

Hotel Kissandros

8/10 Good

"The lady in charge couldn’t do enough for us and she put on a decent enough breakfast each morning. Her qualities stemmed from her good nature and willingness to assist us in every way. Her lack of English language skills meant she lacked the werewithall to help on other issues such as a lack of certain bathroom equipment such as a plug for the sink. Such small inconveniences didn’t bother us but it may do others. The lady’s son attended regularly and he could speak English more than adequately. The room was always clean and everyone down at breakfast seemed to be perfectly happy with the place."

Traditional House With Pool And Great View!

10/10 Excellent

"We loved this cottage which had everything we needed and was beautifully kept. The outside space was private and the pool was great! Our host was very kind and even provided a meal when we arrived along with other provisions to get us started. Thank you!I would definitely recommend this property."

Private paradise with heated pool Peace, comfort. Goddess and large garden

10/10 Excellent

"If you are wanting a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you however if you are wanting a very Cretian villa with a beautiful pool and garden and a host who goes the extra mile then this is the place. Vagelis (the owner) simply added to the holiday with his fresh fruits, honey and oil from his own olives. He was available for any help needed. Great place to stay and great people. We would gladly visit again."

Paralos The Maxine - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"Great sea views and easy 5 minute walk to Agia Galini beach. Room 212 was spacious, bed was comfortable, pool was beautiful and had ample sun-beds and shade, and the AC worked great. Improvements that would enhance the stay include figuring out and fixing the sewage smell in the room and fixing the moldy trim outside shower. Lacked basic amenities like hair conditioner, had a bottle of hand lotion in the shower instead of hair conditioner- which was really weird. When you leave the room, all electricity turns off which means the mini refrigerator and freezer turn off- you come back to melted ice and warm beer. There is no restaurant on site. They do have a snack bar at the pool open until 5 pm. They have buffet breakfast with a lot of hot and cold choices each morning. If you want real orange juice, cappuccino, or espresso there is an additional charge (most hotels include these options via self serve machines). In the evening they offer a buffet dinner. Bar is open til late but does not serve food or snacks. We really missed having a restaurant to order from. Good news is plenty of great beach bars and tavernas were short walk away along the beach."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Rizikas?

The best area to stay in Rizikas is the Old Town, particularly around the Venetian Harbour.

This area is the heart of Rizikas, known for its elegant Venetian and Ottoman architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and a relaxed pace of life. The Venetian Harbour is the focal point, lined with seafood restaurants and cafes, and overlooked by the iconic Lighthouse. You'll find many boutique hotels tucked away in historic buildings here.

Couples will find the Old Town particularly appealing. The romantic setting of the harbour, superb for evening strolls, combined with the abundance of intimate dining options and stylish bars, makes it a wonderful choice for a getaway. The charming streets are ideal for exploring hand-in-hand, discovering artisan shops and hidden courtyards.

When is the best time to go to Rizikas?

The best time to visit Rizikas, Crete, is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for exploring the island without the intense heat and crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural landscape is at its most beautiful, whether it's the wildflowers in spring or the golden hues of autumn.

Couples often prefer these times for a more relaxed and intimate experience. You can enjoy strolls through the charming villages, explore archaeological sites like the Palace of Knossos, or simply relax on the beaches of Elafonisi or Balos without feeling overwhelmed by large numbers of tourists. Restaurants and attractions are fully open, but you'll have an easier time securing reservations and enjoying a peaceful meal.

For those looking to enjoy hiking and outdoor activities, the shoulder seasons are ideal. The cooler temperatures make trekking through gorges like Samaria more comfortable, and the natural beauty of the island is truly spectacular.
