Avoid — filthy rooms, no power, and zero customer care We arrived after a long drive with our 5-year-old and 3-month-old, tired and looking forward to checking in. Reception was pitch black, had a strange smell, stained carpets, crumbs on the chairs, and a sticky front desk. The young man on the desk barely acknowledged us. He didn't ask our names, and simply said he couldn't check us in because the power was out and he didn't know our room number. When my partner asked how long the power had been off, he said "maybe an hour" — with no apology and no offer for us to sit down while we stood there holding our baby and bags. When I asked if he could call the manager to find our room number, he did so reluctantly. He handed over the key without any explanation of where the room was — and to make matters worse, our family room was on the 3rd floor. With the power out, that meant carrying our baby, our 5-year-old, and all our bags up three flights of stairs. Completely unacceptable for a family with young children. We found our way there in the dark to find the carpet stained and the walls thick with dust. My partner's parents, staying in a separate room, said theirs was worse — red marks on the carpet that looked like blood. We went back down to say we wouldn't be staying, and he barely reacted, again saying he didn't know when the power would return. Clean room and really close to Anfield stadium

Perfect location and perfectly clean room. This is a lovely hotel and we had a great stay. Only negative was that it could’ve done with a little fridge, and the shower/bath taps have a mind of their own, even with the instructions. Its a lovely hotel and would recommend staying here, thank you x

Fantastic place! The grounds are amazing! We stayed for 2 nights our wedding anniversary in the Gingerbread House. Wonderful! Very spacious and lovely bed! Power shower too! The food here is also amazing as are the staff. Can't do enough for you. Will definitely go again and can't recommend enough!

The host was absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for any more. Apartment was well equipped and considering being in the middle of all the bars and clubs was very well sound insulated. I would recommend to family’s that this is in the middle of a busy nightlife part of Liverpool so may not be suitable for young children. But workers/couples or friends it’s absolutely ideal for being in the centre. Thank you so much :) Sam
