It disheartens me to write this because the other Barcelo hotels in Valencia and Lanzarote have been much much better and have always gone above and beyond with their service, whenever we have stayed with them.
Unfortunately, our stay in the Hamburg hotel was very different, to say the least.
Positives : Room with modern fittings. Clean. Free room safe. Friendly staff. Great location.
Negatives : Room phone not working and not repaired, so no use at all when needing to ask for help, using the phone. Key card (used for the power) taken by the cleaner(s) and not replaced until the second evening. The consequence of this was the room was overwhelmingly warm upon returning to the room. A 24 hour room service finishing at 10pm.
The biggest disappointment was the hotel not replying to a direct message/request 48 hours before arrival. It has to be added that the Barcelo group are usually very prompt at responding.
Overall, our stay was underwhelming. We booked the hotel on the quality of service we have had at the other Barcelo hotels.

Wirklich eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern, großen und gut eingerichteten Zimmern.
Besonders gefallen hat uns auch die Liebe zum Detail, viele Bilder an der Wand, Dekorationen in den Fensterbrettern. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sonderwünsche werden sofort erfüllt.
Herausragend war meiner Meinung nach das Frühstück. Dieses ist zwar sehr teuer, aber es war auch wirklich lecker mit frischen Brötchen, Lachs, Salaten, frischen, Erdbeeren, guten Säften etc.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder.
Was könnte besser sein? Der Pool dürfte gerne etwas wärmer sein. Und der Tennisplatz wirkt dann doch etwas heruntergekommen. Aber wie cool, dass es überhaupt einen gibt!

Great hotel, would have rated 5 stars but we stayed there on a Monday - restaurants closed, limited dinner options in the bar lounge. Long wait for everything. Beverage prices excessive for the quality (e.g., Grauburgunder by the glass @ EUR 11/100ml would have to be remarkable; the wine on offer was of low complexity, flat, not fresh)

"Terrassenmöbel waren in gutem Zustand.Im Innenbereich war vieles zusammengestückelt.Ein paar vergessene Bücher lagen in den Schränken aber nicht ein Gesellschaftsspiel war vorhanden oder auf Nachfrage ausleihbar (das haben wir vor 6 Jahren schonmal viel besser erlebt).Nach einem Handwerker rufen ..."
