"close to the city centre and the art gallery"
This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel, I travel to Melbourne when there are important art exhibitions at the NVG. The hotel is within a pleasant walking distance of the art gallery and many restaurants and cafes. It was cold and wet most of the time but the a/c kept the room warm and could be turned off during the night as the bed had a good quality doona on it. I will be back in April next year, if not before, to visit the Van Gough exhibition.

"Hotel hard for transport to get near"
If you're taking a bus from airport, the driver puts you out about 300 metres away because Little Collins Street is narrow and Equitable Place, the lane where the hotel is, is for walkers only. Though the lane is a wonderful bustling cafe-ridden place by day, it is scarily empty and ghetto-like at night. The hotel is only about a half a minute walk down the middle of the little open-ended lane, but still ... I travelled alone, went to an evening show and was worried sick about returning to hotel, walking down empty city street, then the lane. The staff were very nice. The room was clean. I had trouble with the phone. This nice hotel, in a great location, would be great for solo travellers who weren't scaredy-cats!

"excellent location"
The hotel is close to the trams and buses which made it easy to access shopping centres and attractions, but walking to places around the city was very good as there is alot to see. We loved our Melbourne adventure and hope to come back.

"Great place to stay"
We arrived 2 hours before scheduled check in, but our room was ready for us which was fantastic after our flight. Our apartment was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. It was very quiet, and we were able to make the room nice and dark for our youngest's day sleep. We were close to the tram and to the markets. We would absolutely stay here again.

"Great Hotel next to Airport."
Well apointed and spacious room. City view room was quite. Plenty of fluffy towels but standard consumables were a little disappointing. Helpful and efficient staff with speedy check in. Restaurant staff attentive with high quality meal. Would certainly stay again.

"Excellent Choice"
I really enjoyed my experience here, it meets the Langham standard in most ways but it doesn't exceed expectations if I want to be nit picky about it. I would say my stay at Langham Place Hong Kong, now known as Cordis goes above and beyond. If I were to return to Melbourne I would still choose Langham simply for its location and comforts afforded by the hotel. The price is decent as well. Overall a very good choice in Melbourne.

"Central hotel comfortable feel"
We enjoyed on night stay at Rydges. Staff was very helpful and quick to serve. Tasty breakfast. Centrally located and easy walk to great restaurants as well as short walk to Fitzroy gardens. Curtains in room were a bit dated, bathtub & showerhead also could be better. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Reasonably priced overnight parking, staff friendliness and accomodating late checkout were very welcome bonuses and made our experience wonderful. Would stay again for sure.
