Visited Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games. This was the closest we could get to the city without paying over the odds. Lovely hotel, comfy beds, nice bar/restaurant. The receptionist notified us that they were hosting a wedding, but as our room was furthest from the action, we were not disturbed. Hotel was a 20 minute taxi ride from the city centre. Note there aren't any eateries within walking distance (other than another hotel), but their restaurant offers good food at a reasonable price.

Great hotel with fabulous food

We booked this hotel for a concert a bit off a walk from the station but easier for what we were doing later on . The hotel was spotless staff really friendly . Had everything we needed and all the little touches were great . Would definitely book again

First of all - there’s a £50 holding charge required on check in. This would have been really helpful to have known about prior to arrival. I might have missed it during the booking process but I definitely didn’t know about this until I saw the sign at check in. The hotel is fine. I can’t say I would pay so much to stay here again. The shower in the room was incredibly small. I awoke in the middle of the night to find that the bed had separated and there was a big gap in the mattresses which wasn’t great - I didn’t sleep very well. Breakfast was fine - pretty standard. In the middle of service we spotted a staff member refilling the fresh orange jug with the 1.60 cartoon of juice from the newsagent, which we found quite funny. Receptionist was nice, I didn’t catch her name unfortunately. Did not get such a nice vibe from other staff members. On return from breakfast, a cleaner was sitting on the carpet in the hall on her phone. It felt like she was waiting for us to leave and it was kinda odd that she felt she had to do that right outside our door instead of somewhere comfortable- especially because we still had time before checkout. Reasonable level of cleanliness but maybe needs so minor updating? A hand rail on the wall of the stairs would be helpful. I just expected more for the price paid from a hotel that is so well reviewed.

Last minute expensive booking to go to the Cth Games. At a third of the price (which I guess is normal) it might have been ok. But I knew the deal. Whole place feels pretty run down, bathroom was quite grim, bed reasonably comfortable but room was very small. Had to open a window to let some air in but honestly didn’t feel that safe doing so given the dingy car park the room overlooked (and even though I was a few floors up). Didn’t spend much time there which was the best option but also made it a very expensive two nights of sleeping. Would only use again if desperate and it was much cheaper than what I paid which I expect it normally is. Location though is ok with quite a few decent bars and cafes etc a short walk away but quite far from the city centre - probably a 25 min walk if you’re in decent shape!
