The hosts were very accommodating of arrival/check-in time, transport options and meal requirements.

Great place to stay in the centre of Skala and easy access to all the restaurants in the main street. Breakfast amazing with good choices from a full and light breakfast menu,ie Full English, Eggs Benedict and advocado and smoked ham on toast,all delicious and served by a lovely team of friendly waitresses. The little shaded courtyard makes the experience very pleasant. Rooms are cleaned to perfection every day by a lovely lady who even helped us with our cases on the last day.Thank you ! Worth noting that the shower is very small and the floor tends to get soaked. On one occasion it flooded into the kitchen area. I took a window squeedgy which was very handy to use to direct the water into the drains as no mop provided. Also i took over door hooks to hang over the shower cubicle to hang toiletry bags and towels as no shelves or anything to put your toiletries on in the bathroom. I would say beware if you book the rooms with the mezzanine bedroom for young children or anyone for that matter.I am a fit 60 year old and although getting up was easy enough,to come down you have to sit on the edge of the floor and find the top step of the ladder.I did it once and then never again! Much too dangerous. Receptionist had obviously had lots of complaints when i mentionned this to her. Could easily be rectified by moving ladder steps forward and adding a top platform and handrail,but still the room would be too dangerous for children to use. I would book a twin room in future.

We last stayed at the magnolia back in 2011 when it was newly opened and loved it. We dont make a habit of staying at places er have already been but we came back again this and its still as beautiful as er remembered This this time we had a room om the third floor where we could see the sea in the distance to the left and gorgeous mountains to the right. The staff were friendly and the rooms cleaned daily. The family who run the hotel even left us a little welcome back gift in our room, which was a thoughtful touch. We love the evening walk down to Katelios bay where there are a row of lovely traditional greek restaurants and bars. The beach itself at Katelios is average however if you are feeling adventurous you can walk over the rocks to Kamina beach which is sandy and clear, there are also sunbeds you cam rent and a very nice beach bar/restaurant. The pool at the magnolia is a really nice place to relax, the sunbeds are comfortable and the pool was always very clean and inviting. Breakfast at the magnolia was good, there could have been more variety but elements changed daily so we didnt get bored. The bar is a nice place to relax however the cocktails were not as nice as down by the beach and id recommend to sticking to wine amd beer which was served ice cold and very refreshing. The hotel restaurant is closed for the season. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel with a traditional greek fishing village a pleasant walk away.
