From the peak you can admire views that stretch all the way to the coast of Algarve in the south, to the Cape St. Vincent in the west, Faro to the east and Alentejo to the north. Visit Monchique, a colourful village located 5 km away from Fóia’s viewpoint. With the nearby mountains, it’s a great place for a relaxing place holiday away from the crowds and offers amazing views. It takes just 30 minutes to reach beaches of the south and west Algarve by car from Monchique, so you’re never too far from the action. The route through Serra de Monchique, named the "Sintra of the Algarve", with its lush greenery is also stunning. Popular activities around the area include sports such as mountain biking, canoeing and climbing. You can rent most of the necessary equipment from nearby establishments.
