Service is not good. There was times where I stayed at dirty tables and when I would ask the staff where to sit, they would shrug and walk away. I would have to ask for clean forks, glasses and if you want your own drink you need to get it yourself. Also not sure why if breakfast starts at 7am we have to wait until 730 to get an omelet made or eggs made. I feel like if they had more staff the problems would be fixed. You could also tell the manager was trying a lot to keep up with the busy time and that he cared. With that being said, those are minor to me and the food is good and beach is amazing (other than the fact that other people that are not part of the hotel use it and it’s not really regulated) but it’s nice having an umbrella and chairs. MAKE SURE TO GO EARLY FOR CHAIRS!! The room itself is clean and they even decorated our room for our honeymoon which is appreciated. I would stay here again if I come back to Bodrum.

The Salmakis Resort & Spa was an enticing place but little things meant that it didn't deserve its 5 star rating. The WiFi did not work in the hotel room, only in the restaurant and reception areas, which was very frustrating and inconvenient. When we arrived there was one area through which everyone had to walk to access other areas of the hotel, which had a large pallet loaded with what seemed to be large boxes of machinery. Over our stay this pallet was gradually unloaded but the boxes were just moved to corridors outside the hotel rooms on various levels. There was evidence of damage to some of the mosaics set into walkways and repairs were needed to the steps from our room down to the pool area. In my hotel room, there was no plug for the bathroom basin, meaning to shave it was necessary to keep running the water - a waste of resources. There was no toilet roll holder beside the toilet, just a couple of toilet rolls sitting on a shelf beneath the hand basin. The beach towels were obviously quite old as many of them were frayed at the edges. In all, whilst we enjoyed our stay there it definitely was not worth a 5 star rating.

Hotel grounds are stunning, beautiful gardens and superbly lit up at night! Great restaurant choices and beverage selection. Should be noted the kitchens are quicker than a Macca’s so don’t be surprised if sipping your pre dinner cocktail whilst your main appears!! Better than waiting for your food I guess! Good entertainment in the evenings with live concerts nearly every night! Sports bar great and given World Cup was on always had people in there watching! GUGU beach club great way to spend a day people watching in between swims in the sea. Only one concern was music at times tended to be way to loud for a chilled out beach day. Each to their own I guess! All in all a great all inclusive hotel with plenty of options! Make sure you make use of the champagne bar at reception too!
