"A good friendly hotel"
The staff were always helpful, a clean, comfortable and quiet room made our stay in Edinburgh great. The breakfast buffet was all that let this hotel down. Whatever time we arrived some items of food were not available for at least 15 minutes at a time. The ratio of staff to guests was inadequate to deal with breakfast and the requests of dietary needs. The staff who were on duty did all they could to deal with requests.

"and a great time was had by all!!"
recently booked a 2night stay at the KMH completely random choice through Expedia was a bit apprehensive as this was a birthday bash surprise for my sister, however, it turned out to be a breath of fresh air in UK breaks, staff were super friendly and rooms were immaculately maintained, no trouble if any extras were needed, room attendants only too happy to accommodate, always greeted by the household team with not just bright happy smiles but always with a very courteous 'good morning' so delightful and unexpected, a great start to the day very well done and thanks for all the hard work!!

"Nice Atmosphere"
Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. We found the location good as just off one end of Princes street. Very nice room with lots of above average touches. Particularly liked the night light for finding my way to the bathroom in the dark. The swimming pool was excellent but an additional £30 to enter the spa facilities was a bit much.

"Possibly the best hotel in Scotland"
My wife and I were blown away by the amenities available, the cleanliness and the friendliness of all the staff we encountered. We've stayed in quite a few hotels in Scotland, including Edinburgh city centre, and Dalmahoy House beats them all. I would strongly recommend a stay there, and we'll certainly be adding it to our wish list for future stays in the Edinburgh area.

"Great setting but outdated and expensive."
Lovely spacious suite but furniture needs updating and bath too small. Beautiful scenery across golf course to beach. Restaurant very pricey. Do not request a well done steak it was like eating charcoal. £34.00 for a bottle of Rioja which would retail in the supermarket for £9.00 was very excessive.. Staff were polite, friendly, and helpful.

Dalhousie Castle Hotel & Spa

"Wonderful stay at a gorgeous castle."
Dalhousie Castle is the ideal place if you're looking to stay in a castle in the Edinburgh area. It's about a 20 minute taxi ride from the city center which is just far enough to be out in the peaceful Scottish countryside. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful, and sits on grounds that are equally so, with archery, falconry, and several great walking paths. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and accommodating - we were even greeted by a nice gentleman in full Scottish garb who gave us a brief history of the castle. The castle and grounds are very quiet and peaceful - fantastic for relaxing with a good book. The food was absolutely spectacular, from the home-baked pastries that came with breakfast to the truly magnificent three course meal you can get through the Dungeon Restaurant, which I highly recommend. Overall an amazing experience with my only regret being that we did not stay longer.

"Room gives a little cramped sensation"
I stayed in a double room, later in a single one- both fairly comfortable, but both a bit cramped, especially the single room. Furniture needed walkaround in the singlke room.
