Clean and well-updated rooms. But the most impressive part of our stay was the restaurant. Food was extraordinary, some dishes were Michelin-level (we just returned from France). Their cod was ther most creative fish dish I ever tried and made me love kale that accompanied it! Crab cakes and lobster corn fritters were innovative and delicious. No wonder this restaurant is booked solid, no other place we ate in the area got even close! I think the owners have a gem of a chef and my highest compliments to him/her! Bravo!

The room was very clean. Furnishings are outdated (90s era) and detract from any aesthetic appeal. I have stayed here once before. It is cleaner than most hotels and that’s important (+ 1 star). People must be making coffee with tap water now or something? I am sure there was a vending machine with a 12 ounce bottle of purified water for $3-4 but I am not a consumer of overpriced purified city water (- 1 star). My standard for hotels is a minimum of two 12 ounce bottles of water (only enough to make two coffees and have three sips throughout the night). I always bring a gallon of spring water with me to hotels now (even those with “Excellent” or “Wonderful” reviews). There were tissues (+ .5 stars). That’s becoming less common. There was a room service card that had the customary “Your room was cleaned and prepared for you by __name goes here__” without a name. No pen or pad (- .5 stars)—I brought my own and circled where the name belonged on the envelope. A not as exciting but more valuable tip. I strongly encourage people to take a second floor room. There were young children above me with parents who were letting them jump off of furniture like they were at a theme park. The first floor noise wasn’t bad but the overhead amusement park made up for that (- .5 stars). Beds are comfortable (+ 1 star). I can’t comment on breakfast because I came to sleep. This is one of the better reviews that I’ve written. I would place this hotel in the top 10 percentile of regional hotels.

Do not book the room with the queen sized bed. It is too small to fit the bed, nightstand, chair and two adults. It is located behind the office as kind of an after thought & better suited for a single bed and one person. We asked to be moved and were given a king sized bed room at no extra charge, which was nice. The place is definitely dated, lacks in-room amenities like a coffee maker & mini fridge, but these things are available for community use in the office. The location is great and we were able to walk all over the Harbor to everything we wanted to do, eat good food and enjoy the friendly people.
