"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

It’s basically a 1-bedroom apartment with EVERYTHING already provided: wine glasses, beer mugs, coffee mugs, all kitchen utensils etc etc. no need to bring any silverware or anything they have it. The only thing that was inconvenient was there was very little toilet paper left on the holder and none to add to it so we had to buy our own toilet paper. "This place was a special retreat from all the commercialization of the Kitty Hawk area. It is located in and near one of the few original maritime forests on the island. You could hear all the frogs and crickets singing at night. Each room has a balcony with porch swing, overlooks the water, and has a spectacular sunset view. We would definitely stay here again!!"

"Great stay at Roanoke Island Inn! Service was amazing and loved that they give you complimentary water bottles and snacks/beverages to make the stay that much nicer. The room was very clean and the AC unit worked great. The location is so nice with a very short walk to numerous shops and restaurants. Would definitively stay here again!"

"The management company, particularly Barbara, was very helpful and prompt in replying to all questions. Five stars for this! The house was spacious and accommodated our group of 13; however, the house is in need of updating. The dryer went out during our stay but was repaired but all appliances need to be upgraded. Pressure washing is needed for the exterior as we were unable to use the outdoor furniture due to the bird droppings and spider webs. Carpet is also in need of replacement. Although...
