"Our first time back in Belize in 18 years . Umaya was the perfect place. The views over the lagoon towards the Maya mountains are perfect backdrop after a day at the beach and pool. The staff were great, very helpful with booking trips etc. The restaurant is excellent and the wood burning Pizzeria provides a great alternative. We will be back "

"We have been staying at Grand Colony for years. The reason we keep returning is the convenience of walking down the beach to the dive shop, having a full size kitchen and individual bedrooms for everyone. There are no amenities to speak of. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, the beach chairs have seen better days but so has the beach. The sea grass is nothing Grand Colony can help but it does make the ocean unswimable. "My wife and I stayed May 6 through May 11th at Almond Beach and had the beach cottage. We loved being steps from the beach with our own deck. The room was large and inviting. We used our outside shower the entire time preferring the breeze and sound of the ocean day and night. The ceiling fan didn’t work and the housekeeper brought us a stand up fan which was great.
