I loved the vibe of Hi Boston! It was friendly, fun, adventurous. They offer city tours you can join spontaneously; common spaces that are inviting and lead to conversations with other travelers; and it's just as easy to be quiet and keep to yourself, if you like. My roomates were all respectful and quiet. The room was a sort of crashing/sleeping space and it seemed understood that we all played a part in preserving that ambience. There were other good places, after all, for conversation. I did have one issue: when I arrived at 5:30pm, my room was still not ready, and would not be for another 20 minutes at least. Check-in started at 4:00pm. The staff explained that they did not have enough cleaners and they were doing the best they could. While I completely understand this struggle, I hope the management team finds a solution to this as it's extremely disheartening to arrived tired and exhausted at your destination but without a place to stay. I'm happy to say that the staff member who was there was able to find an alternate room for me to stay in, which was a solution that worked very well for me. Thank you for understanding and being patient with my tired, cranky, heat-exhausted self! All in all, I heartily recommend Hi Boston and hope to visit again.

This was my first hostel experience and now the bar is set pretty high. The staff were great and it was cool meeting new people. Room was clean and the location was convenient.
