"Staff was great. Food was great. Property was great. Natural setting with birds and monkeys was really great. On a clear day you can see the top of Kilimanjaro as you have a gin and tonic on the veranda in the photo. Monkeys would be playing overhead as you were eating on a terrace overlooking a bird paradise. Horseback riding was great through the village and jungly terrain. Some of the staff - especially house keeping were unresponsive/slow and if something was requested in the room, took too long, and once we requested towels at the swimming pool which were never delivered even after following up. They can help you find restaurants, get a a taxi, even just answer questions about Tanzanian culture. Most speak very good English. The owner is onsite almost everyday and really nice. "This hotel is lovely. It's surrounded by beautiful trees and a river. The best part are the monkeys that climb through the trees and can be viewed from the restaurant. The rooms are beautiful in a sparse, clean and sophisticated way with tasteful choice of art and furnishings. The place is great for kids - a lovely pool and great play area.
