“A lovely property”
Great hotel, beautiful grounds, the rooms are very updated, clean and comfortable. Flat screen TVs, in room coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. In door and out door pools. We did not eat there so can't comment. Very convenient location to Tarrytown and 287.

“Gorgeous hotel!”
The hotel and grounds were beautiful!! I wish we were able to stay longer. The pool was pretty cold and it was a little hard to locate. But, I would definitely love to stay there again!
“Wonderfful Winter Weeekend Getaway”
This place is superb ... we've stayed here twice, and it's been magical both times. It's the perfect place for a quiet winter getaway ... a nice break from the city. They have great room rates in the winter, though I think they make up for it with the room service and in-house movie charges!
“Great Hotel, Great Location”
My wife and I stayed here during a trip to NYC. We wanted to stay somewhere in the Hudson Valley because several people mentioned how beautiful the area was. The area is definitely beautiful and convenient to NYC (the hotel is located about 25 miles north of Midtown Manhattan). The hotel is located on a 26 acre historic estate, and is right across the street from Washington Irving's house (Irving was the author of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow). The hotel is also convenient to old town Tarrytown and the Village of Sleepy Hollow. Great Place, Great Experience.
“great relaxing getaway”
The hotel is situated at a wonderful location close to Tarrytown and Irvington and is surrounded by beautiful grounds. The staff made us feel very welcome and made sure we were happy with our room, which was spacious, clean and the bed was super comfortable. On the property they have a complete sportscenter including an indoor and outdoor pool, with a small bar were you can have a relaxing afternoon cocktail. They also have a restaurant in a seperate building, were they serve a very nice breakfast in a room overlooking the grounds for only 15 dollar. Also, there are two historic sites at walking distance, Lyndhurst and the house of Washington Irving. Some other sites and downtown Tarrytown, with many nice restaurants, is only a 10 min cabride away. All in all, Tarrytown house made one night away feel like an actual mini-vacation!
“Living it up”
This is a very upscale, unusual old estate with beautiful grounds, elegantly furnished air conditioned rooms, with outdoor pool, indoor jacuzzi and steam room, and sports center. Also the option of the sumptuous buffet breakfast was most welcome.
“LOVELY AREA,,CONVENIENT FOR OUR PURPOSE, BUT ROUGH TO GET AROUND”
We didn't qualify for the type of trips you mentioned. Ours was for a family funeral.The grounds were beautiful, the amenities wonderful.There were a few drawbacks. Our rooms were very hard to get to-the hotel is a maze, on many different floors, w/ no elevator to reach all the areas.There was a very large wedding in progress, so all of the parking was assigned for their valet spots. We had to walk up many different levels far from the hotel. They have many wonderful amenities that we weren't able to use due time constraints.Our family was very happy w/our rooms once we got there.

Great location for the northern suburbs of the NY metropolitan area. Superb grounds and views.Friendly and helpful staff. Unusual layout in a campus sort of environment. Be prepared for some walking and stair climbing. It's on my list of preferred stops.
“An Amazing, Romantic, Relaxing Getaway.”
My husband and I went to Tarrytown for Labor Day. Our experience was GREAT! The holtel was clean, comfortable, full of nature and beauty. We loved, loved, loved Cellar 49! Complements to the chef :) Outdoor pool has a bar, indoor pool is more private. Hot Tub was great, a little diry, but that's not a suprise considering the fact that everyone who went in, walked all around the pool area either barefoot or with flip flops. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
