“Good Hotel”
Cheap and good
“Good deal for the price”
Located 3 mi from Niagara falls. Close to mall and grocery. Comfortable and clean rooms. Good internet and free parking as promised. However, no continental breakfast as advertised; only donuts and coffee.
“good value for money”
I live in Toronto, and I travel regularly to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. I usually stay at 3 or 4 star hotels or Brand Names Motels, but this time I decided to stay at the Swiss Cottage Inn, ( rated 2 stars), because it looked attractive and well kept from the outside. At check in we were edgy, because we did not know what to expect, however, the receptionist was pleasant and courteous, and put all our doubts to rest. From then on everything was rosy: The room was a little small compared to the 4 star hotels, but it was spotless clean, the mattress was nice and firm, and they even managed to fit in a small fridge and microwave. It had everything that the 4 star hotels have in a room except for the toiletries ( which we really did not expect ). The difference was that the big hotels have lounges, bars, restaurant.etc which we never take advantage of anyway. I was so pleased that I promised myself that anytime I stay in Niagara Falls, I would stay at the Swiss Cottage Inn, and forgo the luxuries and the expense of big hotels. Definitely good value for money, and I would recommend it to all family and friends.
“Surprisingly Good!”
I say surprisingly, because I had read the reviews about this hotel, and they were mixed. So I decided that I would be taking a 50% chance. The competitive price had a factor in my decision. True, it is not a new hotel, however, the room had all the basic requirements, had a good firm mattress, and was spotless clean. I was upgraded to a queen size bedroom instead of the double bed that I had reserved. The first impression from outside was good, the parking lot was clean and well kept, the swimming pool is relatively big and the water was crystal clear. Although the weather did not permit swimming, it was perfect for sun tanning at the pool area. Breakfast was not great, but who goes to a hotel for its breakfast? The manager was of great help in giving us directions of where to go, where to park, what to see, where to eat and nothing was disappointing. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Excellent value for money. Thanks to Expedia for its hotel rating: How can you go wrong if you choose a 2 star hotel from Expedia and get all this.
“gets what you paid for.”
great price.. cozy room, with supermarket Tops right across from the street and KFC to the left. not far from the Falls. only one issue, the wall is very thin, you can hear the couple next door loud and clear, specially when the bed frame from next door is squeaking, as well as the snoring. but for the price and location, it is a great price...
“Specializing in Hospitality!”
I will admit it - the facility itself was pretty typical of a smaller, older building; the doors had been painted over so frequently they didn't like to close, and the rooms never seemed to have enough electrical outlets. While small, the room we enjoyed was very lavishly equipped, however - the proprietors generously updated us to a larger bed and a room with more amenities in light of our longer stay! That was the first of many generosities I encountered at the Swiss Cottage Inn. Let me just say - both the proprietor and his wife were wonderfully kind, respectful, helpful, generous, and extremely gracious the entire time I was there. Believe you me - being sixteen hundred miles away from home, it was such a blessing to have their kind and generous presence to help guide me around! Even the housekeeping was the spirit of graciousness! I never had a question go unanswered, a request be denied, or directions or assistance that failed me in any way, shape or form. From towels to karaoke, these people were a huge factor in making my trip to Niagara Falls nothing but pure bliss! Thank you so much for everything - and if you're interested, don't hesitate to look these people and their wonderful hotel up!
“Good for 1.5 stars”
In my opinion, you get what you pay for, and for 1.5 stars and the price we paid, I was satisfied with this hotel. We arrived late and the gentleman behind the desk was very helpful. We checked in fine and were given the internet access code which worked great. The room itself is what you would expect from a 1.5 star place, but for a 1 night stopover it was fine. Airconditioner was a bit noisy but worked fine.

“For the Price? Can't Be Beat!”
The room was very small but since I was alone that was no problem. The bed was very comfortable and the room was scrupulously clean. The furniture (desk, chair, armoire) were a little beat up but sturdy, clean, and entirely serviceable. The bathroom, again, was incredibly clean and the shower had great water pressure which can make up for a lot of sins! There are no "extras" at this motel but for the price, you wouldn't expect any. The only thing I would have suggested was a bed-side lamp as the lamp above the bed was just a little high up to make reading comfortable. I found out as I checked out that, had I asked, the proprietors would have provided a lamp. So if you find something lacking in the room - ask for it. Chances are you'll be able to get what you need. I stayed here 4 nights while visiting my aging father in his independent living situtation (he has no room for overnight guests in his small apt.) and will absolutely book here again if I return in the height of the summer tourist season.
