This Hyatt Place has dropped the traditional lobby and front desk in favor of a contemporary open area called the Gallery, with a check-in kiosk and the expertise of a host, who is available to help with check-in, guest tours, and even food preparation, 24 hours a day.
The Gallery area houses the Bakery Café, which includes a coffee and wine bar and a 24-hour touch-screen kiosk for ordering freshly prepared hot and cold items; guests pay by swiping either room key or credit card. A self-help case of baked goods, salads, sandwiches, and drinks is also available 24 hours; a complimentary Continental breakfast with Starbucks coffee is served each morning.
Among complimentary amenities are use of the TV room with its 27-inch flat-panel screen and seating for four, use of a computer with high-speed Internet access and a printer, all in the Gallery area; and hotel-wide wireless Internet access.

All guestrooms feature Hyatt's signature Grand Bed: Sealy Posturepedic mattress; 250-thread-count triple sheeting; down blankets; double down-surround pillows. Separated from the bed by a partial wall, the sitting area provides a queen sofa bed and desk.
42-inch, flat-panel, high-definition TVs allow guests to plug in laptops, MP3 players, and DVD players. Satellite channels include 11 channels of high-definition programming and SportsNet. Both wireless and wired high-speed Internet access are complimentary; one of the two telephones is cordless.
Refrigerators, coffeemakers, and wet bars are included. Bathrooms provide granite countertops and Portico white-ginger scented bath amenities.
All rooms at this hotel are non-smoking.
Dining
A complimentary Continental breakfast is served each morning with fresh fruit, cereals, toast and bagels, juice, and Starbucks coffee.
Bakery Café - Premium espresso drinks, beer, and wine; freshly prepared hot and cold items can be ordered using a touch-screen kiosk; baked goods, salads, sandwiches, and drinks can also be selected from a cold case. Open 24 hours daily.
Recreation
Cardio equipment in the fitness center features built-in TV screens, and includes two treadmills, an exercise bike, and an elliptical cross-trainer.

“Awsome”

“A Good Choice”
The hotel is a short walk from the restaurant area of the River Walk, but not bad. Parking was free and easy to access, which was a real plus. The room was really large, and having the couch worked out great. Our two college-age children traveled with us and the large room accommodated us well. Bathroom is very small, but you can survive. My son was a little shocked to find was $20.00 to rent an on-demand movie.

“Free breakfast, parking, and internet”
Free breakfast, free parking, and free internet together in downtown San Antonio are hard to come by. This hotel offered all three at a very reasonable price. The hotel was very nice. The lobby and the rooms were very modern and clean. They upgraded us to a balcony room facing the river on the seventh floor. They didn't skimp on the toiletries. They even had toothpaste in the room. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel isn't on the tourist section of the river walk, but it is on the river, and the river does have sidewalks that lead to the tourist area. The tourist area of the river walk is a scenic and pleasant ten minute walk away.
“San Antonio stay”
I thought the hotel was closer to the actual Riverwalk when the reservations were made.
“Good time by the riverwalk!”
The rooms were great, everything was new and the staff was extremely helpful. Only draw back is that it is a little bit of a walk to get to the attractions on the river. However, much more peaceful of a stay. We also stayed at the Le Mansion right on the walk and it was very noisy all night. Great place to stay.
“Unbelievable service”
The girls at the front desk were absolutely amazing. And this is probably one of our best stays with kids. They try their absolute best, and make you comfortable in every possible way. Would definitely go back ...
“Great Hotel”
It was very nice when you walked in and the rooms were amazing. It was on the very end of the river walk so we had to walk a little ways but it was ok. The continential breakfast was cereal and toast, there was an addtional charge for a waffle or eggs made to order. Other than that the hotel was very nice. I really liked it and will probably stay here again!
“great find on the river walk”
this hotel is about 4 blocks from the convention center and about two to the riverwalk. it is good value for the money in an area that is very expensive. Breakfast was included but you could also order and have hot food for any meal - not a full restaurant, but convenient eating bar. for frequent travellers it was nice to have the option of a little higher level of food service comapred to an "express" hotel, could order wine, parking - tons of it, simple good exercise room. when you are in town for a convention and watching your dollars this is a good bet. Staff was EXCELLENT.
“GREAT!”
I am honestly thrilled with this hotel. The service was more than great. I loved the friendly vibe and the rooms and beds are amazing. The pool is nice and clean, there is free parking, and the breakfast was adequate. I think that as a tourist you pay for the experience. You want to be treated great, and this hotel really is awesome. I stayed at the Westin the day after this hotel and let me tell you they did not at all live up to my expectations after the service and luxury of this hotel. Honestly I paid so much more to stay at a "4 star hotel (Westin)" and it really, really, was a dissapointment. Stay here you won't regret it!
