“Perfect honeymoon location in the eternal city”
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Villa Duse for five night at the start of our honeymoon and we can't recommend it highly enough. We stayed in the Red Junior Suite which has plenty of space and a lovely private terrace, a beautiful marble bathroom and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. All of the staff were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us, organising a luxury car from the airport, flowers and proseco, for our arrival. They advised on travel in to Rome by bus and tram, how to avoid the queues at the main attractions and booked us a table at a Michelin starred restaurant 2 minutes walk from the hotel (the wonderful All' Oro). Regarding the hotel location, it is situated in a beautiful suburb north east of the city centre and we found this to be a perfect, peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It's less than ten minutes walk to the bus and tram stops or ten minutes and 15 Euro for a taxi. A city centre hotel with this level of service and luxury would cost twice as much and you might not get such a good nights sleep. Next time we are in Rome we will definitely being staying at Hotel Villa Duse!

Fantastic jewel of a hotel. Great service, beautiful breakfast and wonderful ambiance. This is definitely a great find.
“"A romantic and charming getaway"”
As our taxi wound through the streets of Rome we were not sure what to expect. Villa Duse is located in a residential area of Rome not in the centre and we were a little concerned because of this. However, once we got there and saw the beautiful patio, artistically decorated rooms and met the gracious staff, our concerns were laid to rest. There was a sense of tranquility that I was sorry to be only there for one night. The staff was so helpful - confirming our flight with the airline, ordering a taxi to take us to the center of the city, and arranging for a car to take us to the airport the next day. They also made arrangements for us to be picked up and taken to a delightful traditional Italian restaurant for dinner and a shuttle to return us to the Villa after dinner. It was a most delightful experience and I hope some day to return and spend much longer there.
“Lovely small hotel”
Just got back from a short break for our wedding anniversary. Villa Duse was super, in a quiet location, very clean and with very nice staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but be aware that it is out of the centre of town, about 15 minutes on the bus. However, it was very quiet and nice to get out of the bustle of the city.
“Wonderful Experience”
I found the location to be a great change from the "central" hotels, and it was fun to experience a new area (Parioli) In a very nice residential area that is safe to walk at nite. Quiet !! I also found the staff to be excellent and very helpful. Small (15 rooms), but beautifully appointed. Will definitely return.
“Beautiful hotel, great staff and location”
Wonderful large, clean and beautifully decorated room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had good variety of cereal, cakes and cold meats. We loved the location, after a busy day of sight seeing in Rome it was nice to walk back to a clean safe and almost tourist free area. We also found that by walking through the park we could be at the spanish steps in 20 minutes and could walk to other attractions from there, if your not into walking there is a bus and tran near by. Can't wait to return.
“David and Justina's excellent stay in Rome 2012!”
We were looking for a romantic break in Rome and could not have asked for more from this lovely hotel. We had a superb time! It is a little way from the centre but still accessible. As a result, it gives those that stay a quiet, attractive place to stay in where you can relax after a hard day's sightseeing. The receptionist staff were so helpful with directions, recommendations and advice. All the staff gave the impression that they wanted you to enjoy your stay in this beautiful city. The room was attractive and clean - bed comfortable. Breakfast was well -presented and more than sufficient. We could not fault it.
“Lovely Italian Hotel”
The hotel is hidden away in a lovely old neighborhood. The staff was cordial, accommodating and spoke perfect english,, which was appreciated as we are not fluent in Italian. There is a small "Bar" on the corner for misc. food items altho the hotel does have food service. The bus into central Rome is 2 blocks away. Continental breakfast had variety and was very good. Our rooms were beautiful, quiet & had everything we needed. Expedia & the hotel do need to communicate better on explanation of room titles and what they represent. We had asked for a 2 bed room which is the Executive. We were given a 1 bed room which is titled Classic. The hotel understood the error in communication and after 2 days, when a 2 bed room was available, we did change, at no added cost to us. We were very happy to stay there and would return. The only negative is location, a bit outside of central Rome, but the area is very pleasant so that made up for the location.
“Lovely little hotel with excellent staff”
Hotel Villa Duse is a wonderful hotel in a residential section of Rome. It was a bit further from the city center than we would have preferred, however, there was a bus stop and metro stop within a short distance and the hotel staff gave us excellent directions. We had a lovely stay, and the staff was very attentive and hospitable.
