"My wife and I spent 5 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa in April, 2024. The room and beach were great. The facility itself is enormous, far more so than I had realized when I booked our stay. It's a Marriott, so expect meals to be priced double (or triple) what you might pay at nearby (and far less fancy) restaurants; indeed, meals were priced a good bit higher than what we had paid at similar or nicer hotels in Seam Reap, Bangkok and Hanoi. Perhaps the absence of high end...

"Beautiful hotel right on the beach and with lots of local restaurants just outside. We all had a wonderful time, especially our 3 year old. Breakfast was great. Restaurant was quite expensive for dinner so we didn't book to try it but the restaurants near by are great quality and so cheap! Cocktails were amazing. All the staff at the pool bar in the main pool were lovely and great with kids. We had the most basic day room but it was spacious with a huge bed and a lovely walk in shower. The air...

"Great place for a family holiday. Kids 5 and 7 absolutely loved it. Went to kids club daily which got them out of the heat. Loved the slides, kids water park. The pools were hot, not refreshing. The rooms had great air con, which was needed as it was so hot. We ate outside the hotel every night, and easy to get tuk tuk, or walk. Lots around this hotel. Would highly recommend to families was young kids. "

They then tried to put us in a triples bed room with 2 single beds pushed together. "What a stunning setting. We experienced one of the pool villas with garden view and were just amazed by the comfort and tranquility we could have in this setting. Absolutely fabulous. The only "negative" point for this hotel: in-house dining is quite expensive, but of really good quality. However, there are many small and nice local places around the hotel and all in walking distance. No need for any taxi."

"We had an acceptable pool villa with beach access for which we had paid handsomely however I’d have been horrified to be in the huge block rooms. The resort is jaded and unloved. The dining room is scruffy and a total covid hazard. Tabl s have dirty mats and uneven surfaces. This is the first hotel where I saw guests actually bringing in their own breakfast ( as opposed to taking fruit etc out) it c a n only be described as basic and pedestrian with poor choice and little attention to top up...
