“Excellent Small Hotel”

Highly recommend this hotel for location, just 5 mins walk to nearest Metro [Argentine], 20 mins walk to Arc de Triomphe. Staff speak v good English; room spotless, v comfortable; bathroom immaculate. Only criticism - no tea/coffee making facilities. Didn't eat at hotel - too much exellent food elsewhere to explore.

“Good location and outstanding staff. What a find!”

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel at the end of March 2009 and we both found it to be a Gem in terms of Paris Hotels. One of the key features of the hotel is its location which is 10 mins walk from the Arc d'Triomphe. That being said, for such a central location the Hotel is located on a quiet side street with many amenities within 30 sec walk from the front door. (a Deli, a fruit shop, a bakery, a small supermarket and two oriental restaurants [Thai & Cantonese]). At the end of the street, where it joins L'Avenue d'Grand Armee is a cafe where you can get an excellent club sandwich and a glass of vino. That being said the real strength of this Hotel is the staff who were cheerful, courteous, and also very patient with my attempts to mangle the French language! As I checked in, the conceierge made every effort to ensure that the Hotel's free internet access was available to me, digging out a spare Cat5 lead and explaining which port to use in my room. Also he dug out a spare UK power adaptor for me to loan when it transpired that I had forgotton to bring one - Real service! (Techie note - The internet access was both fast and reliable with good up and downstream speeds, and little to no latency - A rarity amongst free connections!) I can't recommend this hotel too highly. The one thing I'd say (and I'm struggling here, to ensure some balance) is that the room we stayed in might be considered a little small. More bijou than cramped though!

“Well kept secret”

This hotel was small, but very quiet, intimate, and well maintained. We did not feel like we were jammed in with thousands of tourists in a busy area. Many residences surrounded the hotel, adding to a feeling of authenticity. The location could not have been better; for example, within a very short distance was a grocery store, outdoor market, pharmacy, and other necessary and interesting businesses and stores. Restaurants, bakeries, and other eating areas also were very close. Staff was informative and accurate I would definitely return to this hotel.

“Great Hotel near the Arc D' Triomphe”

This hotel was great for our 7 day stay in Paris. Its near the Argentine Metro Station on Line 1, the one that takes you through the Shopping Triangle, the Champs Elysees, the Lourve and the Condcorde. Its only 1 stop either direction to go to Eiffel Tower or the RER C, which goes to Versailles and Notre Dame, St Chappelle and Il De Cite. The Pasterie shop, Boulanger on the Rue Duret, the same street the hotel is on, has great pasteries and sandwiches for much cheaper. Also, there is a small market on Rue Duret as well for water, juice and snacks. I love this hotel for the location and for the comfort. Its nice inside and has a lift. The staff is helpful and the hotel loans out umbrellas which is needed for the unpredictable Paris weather.

“Hotel Duret - A simple, classic and comfortable hotel”

We spent a week here. The hotel was stylish, the rooms well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet residential area that makes you feel like a Paresian. There are nice restaurants, a wonderful patisserie and of course nice cafes nearby. We passed the boucherie every day; there were people waiting in line for their meats and saucisson. We arrived early on a Sunday and drank coffee in the lobby as we waited for them to prepare our rooms. They had our rooms ready by ten, a luxury, as we could shower and nap before heading into town. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a nice hotel to stay at; slightly off the beaten path but a very nice place to rest, relax and recharge for the next day.

“A Paris Gem”

We were most impressed with this hotel, in fact it would be hard to find fault with it. It ticked all our boxes. We wanted somewhere central, (It's very near the Arc De triomphe), a fair degree of luxury and good service. We got them all. We especially liked the contemporary feel instead of the often faux old fashioned ambience found in so many other places.

“Very pleased”

I had read all the reviews I could find and the Duret is well described. It was our first visit to Paris and a small airport transportation company took us right to the hotel for the same price as the shuttle. We had breakfast at the Duret as it was too early to check in. Breakfast which was an open buffet was rather expensive. The hotel is on a quiet street, but very close to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Eysees and the metro which is very easy to negotiate. The English speaking desk was a real help in guiding us to the right train all week and we relied on them for restaurant reservations and recommendations. We were down the street from a great bakery where we got morning cafe and croissants. Nicolas wine is conveniently located across the street. The room we stayed in had a very spacious bathroom and average sized room. It was comfortable. The bed started to feel very firm by the end of the week. The air conditioning was quiet and perfectly comfortable.

“Will return ASAP!”

Convenient to sites, transportation, food market, and cafes! All questions happily answered by staff. Excellent breakfast, and coffee for reasonable price! Interent available. Beds are very comfortable. Air France courtesy buses bring you to CDG, and back, all day, just 3 blocks away! "I'll be back!"

“Excellent hotel, very friendly staff & in an ideal location to explore all the main Paris tourist at”

We stayed at Hotel Duret for our honeymoon. It is a beautiful, modern boutique hotel, located on a quiet street close to the Arc de Triomph. On arrival we were upgraded to a more superior room & were offered a complimentary bottle of wine. All staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel is in an ideal location, it is situated a 2 min walk away from metro station Argentine which is on line 1 of the subway system providing access to all main tourist attractions i.e Champs de Lysee, Louvre etc.. within a few minutes. There is also a great choice of local bistros & cafes nearby, excellent food & very reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitley return on a future trip.
