“I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Paris.”
The hotel sits on a quiet street just on the edge of the Marais section of Paris, which is absolutely one of the most beautiful old medieval Paris neighborhoods. Walking to and from the Latin Quarter or the Louvre is a delight. Around the corner from the hotel is the Republique metro station which allows easy access to and from any area in Paris. And around another corner from the hotel is the increasingly trendy Oberkampf area. At the end of the block from the hotel is a wonderful boulangerie for morning coffee and pastry, and there's a great crepe place just a block away called Cafe Imogene.. After staying in this area, I would not ever consider staying in any other area of Paris.
“We will never go back again”
This hotel is very convenient for its location. It is close by the Republic Metro Station, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre and the Picasso museum. Our room was big and clean; however, we found it very noisy. It seems like this hotel is on top of a railway because we felt like we were riding on a train all the time, especialy at night time. We could not sleep because of the noise and vivration. The front desk staff was not friendly at all. At least the person who was there when we checked out. We left the hotel around 6:00 am, so the person in the front desk was half asleep, and he mentioned that we needed to pay for our stay. We explained him that our payment was done, then he said it was all right, so we left the place, but as we were walking through the street, the front desk guy went after us yelling in French "Arête, arête, vous devez payer pour la chambre" (stop, stop, you have to pay for the room). We went back to the hotel and explained him all over again that we our payment was done and so on, until he literary woke up and saw in computer that everything was all right. He was rude and unprofessional. He did not apologize to us or what so ever. As I said before, location is very convenient, but we will never go back to this place again.
“Decent for the price”
This hotel was apparently the cheapest I could get through expedia which was actually in Paris centre ville. I really liked how our window opened up into the courtyard, which was pretty at night. But it gets a little hot if you want to keep the window closed and we were there..end of May. If you are touristy, the closest stop we could get off and on from was Notre Dame or the Louvre, which were 10-20 minutes walking to or from the hotel. So, just be prepared to walk or take the metro :) . It's not the 1ere arrondissement so it's not the best of neighborhoods either, but it's fairly okay, just keep your wits about you wherever you are in Paris. Hotel receptionists were all very kind and helped us with maps and even held something in the fridge for us because we didn't have a fridge in our room. Oh and they called a taxi for us too :)

Bastille - Republique 11), Paris, France: Northeast of Place de la Bastille, this working-class neighbourhood is gradually becoming fashionable with younger Parisians. Trendy boutiques, cafés and bars are replacing the older shops and bistros, although some old-fashioned workshops survive. Left-wing sentiments are aired here annually on 14th July when France commemorates the Revolution. A few paving stones mark the site of the former Bastille prison.
