“Excellent value for money, fantastic location and very spacious from a Japanese standard.”

I read the review from others prior booking this hotel. We were extremely glad with the experience. It was modern, very clean and located at an extremely convenient location. Having said that we were told on our arrival that we had to move out of our non-smoking triple room after 3 nights to a smoking triple room. I wasn't impressed at all as I thought I was first to occupy the room, surely, others can move into a different room. They also told us that if the booking with expedia would not guarantee a non-smoking room. It was just a request. To my surprise, smoking is actually quite common in Japan. Happened that there was a big group of local students booked a whole bunch of rooms on the same floor. With no choice, we moved out of our room after our first 3 nights into the 'smoking room'. I protested as it was really stinky though the room was another grade higher with a very nice city view. But it wouldn't go well with two young kids. I told them that we simply couldn't stay in that room as it smelled. They changed the room again for us without making it too difficult this time and guess what, this time we were further upgraded to a very nice suite. We would not have dreamt that the corner suite was probably more than 4 times the triple room size with a bath sitting next to a nice window view! There were also two seperate toilets. The room had two queen size bed joined together with an additional third bed placed in the middle of the room. It was a jackpot for us!

This is a beautiful hotel with a great location. I got this hotel for a great price, it was definitely worth more than I paid for it. You can't beat the location. It's right outside of where the Limousine Bus from Kansei airport drops you off, and is within walking distance of various subway stations and the main dotomboro street. Everything was immaculate, the lobby, the room, the staff and the service. I highly recommend!

“perfect location and modern”

excellent location, right by Namba station. 5 minute walk to Dotonbori St. Great supermarket and food selection right under/next to hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly. One thing to note is there is no wireless internet in room (so bring your lap op and not your ipad), but other than that it's a fabulous place to stay! clean, new, and pj's provided!

“Satisfied Traveller”

The hotel is very new and well appointed with modern furnishings. Check-in is fast and relatively hassle free. It is conveniently located next to the JR Namba Station and OCAT, a 5-10min walk to the Namba, Nipponbashi, Dotonbouri shopping areas. Convenient shops can be found within 100m from the hotel. Highly recommended!

“Great Experience”

Great experience - Very chic hotel... would expect the rooms to have been three times what I paid. Honestly was not expecting the hotel to be as nice as it was. Service was excellent, front desk staff and concierge spoke English. No room service but great restaurants in hotel (as well as Spa and an actual European style stone chuch on the 22nd floor... that was "a trip" to see) and more restaurants than you could want in the neighborhood -Walking distance (5 mins.) to Dotonbori. Very close to JR Namba station. Double room is perfect for one person by western standards, would be small for a couple... would need a suite but for the cost that is very "doable" Would def. stay here again.

Loved the convience of this hotel. Great grocery store right downstairs.....and Namba Station there as well. Shops...restaurants....there all within reach of this hotel,. Staff completely helpful...if there English is a bit difficult to understand just talk slowly and be patient. For the location I personally don't think this hotel can be beat.

“Hotel Monterey Grasmere à Osaka : neuf et très agréable”

L'hotel est très récent, situé entre les étages 22 et 31 d'une tour, à coté de la station JR Namba. Les chambres sont grandes (pour un standard japonais), modernes, propres et en très bon état. Seul l'abscence de restaurant (et donc de room service) le différencie d'un 4 étoiles. L'hôtel organise des mariages presque tous les week ends ce qui lui vaut une église en pierre au niveau du lobby au 22e étage. Points positifs : hotel neuf ; toutes les chambres sont à des étages supérieurs, à coté de la station JR Namba qui est un point central d'Osaka ; calme Points négatifs: pas grand chose aux alentours directs à part un mall et une gallerie marchande souterraine (heureusement il y a l'accès rapide au métro/JR) ; pas de room service Au final, je recommande cet hotel. Pour avoir séjourné au Hilton Osaka, il joue dans la même catégorie.

“Good first base in Japan”

This hotel is just next to the the station and an ideal location for using the Japan Rail passes which we used both for travelling out to Kyoto and using the local metro. Osaka has great places to eat and a castle well worth a visit. We found the rooms small but clean and comfortable. Ideal for our short stay before travelling (by train) to Tokyo, but would have been cramped for a longer stay. We especially loved the the small, very deep baths!
