The 11-story Shoreham Hotel offers 177 guestrooms. All-white beds feature pillowtop mattresses, 300-thread-count Belgian linens, and down comforters/pillows. Headboards are decorated with close-up black-and-white photos. Twin reading lights are recessed above the beds.
Complimentary perks include wireless Internet access, delivery of The New York Times and Women's Wear Daily, and shoe shines.
Marble bathrooms enclosed by frosted-glass walls include plush bathrobes and towels, phones, small stainless-steel sinks, Aveda toiletries, and shower/tub combinations or stall showers without tubs.
Furnishings include dressing benches and small desks with draped chairs and multiline speakerphones. Rooms come with minibars, refrigerators and flast-panel, HD televisions. Artworks are originals. Cribs are available on request (surcharge).
Dining
The S Bar - Restaurant and lounge with view of Manhattan streets. Contemporary decor featuring silk leaves sandwiched between sheets of aqua-colored glass, lime-green lounge-style seating. Continental and à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus bar service until late night. Contemporary seasonal menus with dinner choices such as Truffled Goat-Cheese Ravioli, Gratin of Lobster, Crisp Salmon with Almond-Apricot Couscous.
Recreation
Central Park, four blocks north of the Shoreham Hotel, offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including tennis courts, rowboat rentals, horseback riding, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, running, and in-line skating. Rockefeller Center's famed skating rink, five blocks south, opens in winter, as does Central Park's Wollman Rink. Midtown athletic clubs offer swimming, racquet sports, and exercise classes.

“Very nice”
The room was very small and we didn't have much to do with the staff so can't really commnent on the quality of them, but when you're in NY you don't spend much time in you're room anyway! The cleanliness was excellent, the room had a flat screen TV, a tasty radio / CD player and massage chair which was a bonus at the end of tiring day shopping and site-seeing. Location was absolutely superb - couldn't ask for better.
“The location is perfect for the sophisticated traveller.”
Most of everything you want is at walking distance or a short ride on a bus or subway. The complementary cofee/capucino/tea is great: you don't have to start your day searching for a breakfast place.
“Great location, good value for area, fun place”
This hotel is a good value and an amazing location - walk to Central Park, Times Square, MOMA, et cetera. The staff was young and friendly, but not formal at all. The room was small (basic queen bed room) but not so small by NYC standards and I did not feel claustrophic. I would definitely stay there again. The place definitely has a modern feel, which might not appeal to some people.
“Small but perfectly formed!”
The Shoreham hotel is a small but charming hotel set just off 5th Ave, below central park. It was in an amazing location - allowing to see and do everything, with the option of popping back when our shopping bags got too heavy! Our room was clean and modern and the staff at the hotel were very friendly, evening providing us with a glass of champagne on arrival!

“Such a cool hotel!”
My fiancee and I were staying here one night before I took him for a trip for his 30th birthday. The hotel has cool art and a chic style. They give you champagne at check in and when I told my fiancee happy birthday, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar is super-chic as well. Overall, a really cool place and great location!
“i love this hotel”
this hotel is adorable, hip but not hipper than thou like some of the W hotels. I stay here a lot with my little dogs and always receive excellent service. The one negative comment I have is the restaurant manager: she is consistently rude and looks for reasons to insult and confront guests (or at least me and my friends, colleagues and dogs). I did not see her on my last visit, so maybe she has left, in which case, this is the perfect hotel. Front desk staff, bartenders and cleaners are super friendly and accomodating. oh, i do have one more complaint- the hotel used to permit guests to extend checkout time until 6pm for a charge of half a day. This has now changed to 4pm, for the same price, which is way less helpful. The staff says its due to the economy and having to use fewer rooms. Hopefully, this will change back to 6pm soon.
“Great spot, close to everything”
The great thing about this hotel is that is "tucked" away just off of 5th avenue, but is still very close to everything. We easily walked to the MoMA, Central Park and to main shopping areas right from the hotel. The entrance is subdued, just a simple entry on 55th, but we found it very relaxing to return to our hotel without a lot of fuss in the lobby, etc. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and room was very clean. A great value in midtown!
