“I like it”
Very good location, large clean nice room, friendly service.
“Nice small hotel!”
Lovely little hotel in a great location. Very clean rooms and the desk help was great. I've stayed at the Roger Smith many times and it never fails to make me feel right at home.
“Loved it!”
International feel, comfortable, and nice to have breakfast included! Great location, too.
“Surprisingly lovely”
We were in town for only one night for a wedding and chose this hotel based on reviews/location/price. This was a remarkably pleasant hotel; small; very friendly staff; lovely, boutique lobby with individualized art work and sculptures. The elevators were small, but the room was quite large, beautifully appointed, and very restful. There were even books and a plant. We were in 710. the 10 and the 04 stacks seem to be the largest with windows on two sides. Bathroom was small, like all older hotel buildings in NYC.
“Surprisingly good - hidden gem”
It is tucked away between 47th & 48th, one barely notices the hotel bewteen the over-sized competitors. But the find is that much more exciting. Rooms are bigger, cleaner, and a home feel.
“Look No Further”
I've stayed at so called four star hotels that don't compare.
“Will definitely go back”
I heartily recommend this hotel. Our room was spacious (by New York standards) and had a lot of character. A real plus is that breakfast is included in the price. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is in a great location with plenty of restaurants nearby. The only downside is the noise as most rooms face the street.
“Nice Place”
The room was clean and large, especially for NY. We booked a queen and were given a king on a higher floor at check in which was a nice touch. The bathroom could have used a bit of a makeover, but everything worked, there was an elongated toilet which was nice, and there was plenty of hot water. The tub was a whirlpool tub, but I doubt anyone would use that feature. Lexington is busy and noisy, but we slept with the window open and I had no trouble with the street noise. If you do, get a higher floor because there is street noise. The art work is weird. You have modern sculpture with old West paintings and French impressionist repos in the rooms and halls. There is a great Greek restaurant around the corner, Avna I think. A Starbucks next door and a liquor store across the street. Also a cheap breakfast place is across the street on the corner. Lilly's, the restaurant at the hotel is a bit dear and the place down the steet is expensive, $17 for a two egg breakfast. All in all I recommend the hotel. It was clean, the people were nice, it was where we needed to be in the city, and I never felt unsafe.
“Delightful stay on Lexington Ave in NYC”
