“Cavour is a good value with few frills.”
Helpful front desk, very nice breakfast room, but the dining room often was closed or used by some trade group. Wifi was not reliable. Price and value were very good for Milan or any large Euro city.
“Hôtel Cavour à quelques minutes à pied du "quadrilatère de la mode" et du centre touristique”
Cet hôtel réserve un très bon accueil à ses clients. Les chambres sont confortables, les détails y sont soignés. Propreté impeccable. Petit déjeuner, buffet dans un espace agréable, choix abondant et qualité sans mauvaise surprise. Seul bémol, du bruit assez tôt le matin avec les chariots de ménage et le personnel qui parle fort dans les couloirs, à l'italienne ! Conclusion, très bon rapport qualité-prix pour un établissement très bien situé pour un séjour tourisme ou shopping à pied;
“Week-end à Milan”
Hôtel trés bien situé très proche du centre historique de Milan et à deux pas des boutiques chics de Milan. Chambre pas très grande mais très confortable et très bien insonorisée, aucun bruit alors que nous donnions côté rue et proche de l'ascenseur. Très bon petit déjeuner.
“they appear not interested in repeat business”
Facility is reasonably good. I stayed in a suit hence no experience with regular rooms. Service @ front desk, concierge & breakfast is awful. They all demonstrate that they are well located (nearby shopping) and if you do not get back, they will have plenty of one-off clients. No smiles, no interest to do anything beyond what they believe is required. "Our parking is full!" No effort to help you park. "Breakfast is over 5 min ago." "Can I have just a coffee and croissant?" "No". Only time I got a "proactive" service is when I asked if there are places around to eat - I immeediately got recommendations to 2 restaurants, both quite far away and expensive. Needless to say, there were plenty of places around, much closer. I bet you know the reason why. While condition of facility is pretty good (except for a step on the front entrance - which does not help with luggage - but this is perhaps made to the benefit of bellboy), it looks like you are in 1980ies. They have LAN internet in rooms, with detailed instructions re how to get connected, and a charge for the cord! Finally: near front desk, they have a PC available for guests. Nearby, an instruction says: "Before using PC, inform front desk". Why? Just to get a permit? To conclude - no matter what room you get, what you are guaranteed is a decent facility nearby boutique shopping, service up to a pretty low standard but no smile, no effort to help, no attempt to go beyond what is written in job description. Really disappointing
“Not a bad hotel but certainly not 4 star quality”
I'll start with the positives - the location is great for leisure travellers (10 minutes walk from the Duomo and very close to the main shopping area), friendly and amenable staff (we were allowed to check in at 10AM) - and the hotel is generally clean and tidy. So there's nothing I would say is actually wrong with it. The main problem is that it simply isn't the standard you'd expect from a 4 star hotel - even a lower priced 4 star. The hotel is extremely dated (the rooms and decor look like thay haven't been updated since the 60s), the rooms are very small, bathrooms are tiny, the TV is a portable 15 inch set. In terms of quality, it is similar to what you might expect from a budget hotel (such as a Travelodge in the UK). My only actual complaint is that they simply did not have services you would expect - for instance, we forgot to bring a UK-Europe plug adaptor and they did not have one to lend. And even worse, they did not have an iron or ironing board to lend either - which is something I've never experienced in any hotel before! Bearing in mind it was much cheaper than other 4 star hotels, and the location is really good, I would hesitatingly recommend it - but only if you go without any expectations of luxury!
“Not going back”
Hotel room too small to accomodate two persons.
“Never going back”
Tiny tiny room. Air conditioner didn't work in first room, staff was very unwilling to remedy the situation. Only after repeated complaints were we moved to a surprisingly smaller room, but at least it was cool.
“old and depressing...not 4star”
I stayed at the Hotel Cavour 35 years ago...I was a kid. The hotel hasn't changed at all. The location is nice for Montenapoleone shopping...but there are many other better hotels in that price range I am originally from Milan...stay elsewhere!
