Property Amenities
You are really close to La Scala and Duomo in this marvellous four-star hotel, and even closer to Via Spiga, Via Manzoni and Via Montenapoleone - the celebrated streets numbering the most exclusive shops and haute couture designers, alongside the Modern Art Pavilion (Padiglione d'Arte Moderna), the Villa Reale and its gardens, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum and the extremely valuable collection of the Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca di Brera). This is in an area which can be considered the Milanese ‘Rive Gauche’ or ‘Village’.
So, staying at the Hotel Cavour means enjoying an exceptional welcome and being part of a lively area offering the best of the city.
The Hotel Cavour is ready to offer elegant areas where every corner has a little surprise, like the collectionof drawings for costumes for La Scala created by Giò Ponti.
In addition, there are the welcoming bar, functional conference rooms and the famous restaurant Conte Camillo.
The Hotel Cavour has an elegant area in extensive architecture in a play of pillars, patios and stairs where the wait, the business meeting or relaxation become particularly pleasant and satisfying moments.
On entering the Hotel Cavour, there is an air of splendour, elegance and the grandiosity of the style which inspired this extremely central hotel, inaugurated in 1959 and conducted since then by the modern hotel entrepreneurial ability which has always been a feature of the Gallia family’s hospitality. Acquired through the experience of four generations, this is the art in which high quality of service is the symbol of a long, high level tradition, particularly appreciated today by dynamic and demanding clientele
Room Amenities
Rooms
The Hotel Cavour has 113 rooms which are functional and sought-after in style, arranged to offer all comforts: a well-stocked fridge-bar, multi-tongue satellite TV, high speed connections for your PC in all rooms, air conditioning with individual adjustment, a safe box, coverture, laundry service and room service from 7 am to midnight without supplement for breakfast.
The silence of your room is exceptional, obtained through the use of soundproofed external walls and quadruple-glazed windows - a privilege which will let you appreciate the convenience of the centre without giving up your quietness. There is also innovative technology in the lighting system which automatically comes on and goes out on entering or leaving the room, excluding any equipment that may be on charge (mobile phones, MP3, razors, etc.). Lastly, an original note - the use of travertine marble as a furnishing element in every bathroom.
Dining
Directly annexed to the hotel, the Conte Camillo Restaurant offers sought-after ‘regional cuisine’ which varies every two months to offer you a wide choice of tastes and new items. Its refined yet innovative style makes it perfect for every occasion - at lunch it offers a quick careful service and a choice of light and fanciful menus and is an optimal solution for working lunches and meetings.
The Bar, opened from 7am to midnight, ideal for: the mid-morning break, Sunday brunch, the business lunch, afternoon tea, aperitifs, or after a show.

“Incredible location, unbeatable price, amazing breakfast”
Being quite demanding travelers, finding good value hotels in Italy can be a dauting task. We've read several reviews, but in the end chose this hotel mainly because of 1) the location 2) the price (through expedia.com). I was particulary worried that the adjective classic hotel would just be a nice way to say out-of-date. The hotel beautiful and timeless design (attention to detail) was the first positive surprise. Waking up in Cavour hotel, was even better, because the price included an elegant, well-prepared buffet, full of Italian specialties (eg. I had prosciutto with melon). The rooms were relatively small, but nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable, with an American-style mattress. There was no bath tub, but the rest of the bathroom was all in marble. Parking in central Milan in prohibitively expensive, the hotel's rate (39EUR per day) is a headache, but that's unfortunately the norm.
“Great!”
Very much enjoyed our stay! Great room, delicious breakfast with much choice. Very nice location with 2 minutes away from Via de la Spiga!
“Hotel Cavour - excellent Milan experience, except of FOREXCHANGE - BE AWARE”
Excellent hotel; very conveniently located (just two stops from Duomo). Breakfast is perfect, room was very clean and bed was very convenient. If you are a couple, ask for king size bed (not two twin size). Very important: when traveling to Italy, especially to MILAN, exchanges some cash in USA and then in Italy take some money from the ATM. In the airport there is only FOREXCHANGE that charged us 17.9% commission plus EUR 4.90 for transaction; their rate was much higher than we were charged by USA bank (after we withdraw money from ATM) or by VISA. On the Duomo square there is another FOREXCHANGE office that charged us 18.90% commissions plus EUR 4.90. Unfortunately we realized about commission charge after the second transaction. In Venice there are many exchange places and some charged 4 - 6 % plus much lower transaction fees. There is Banco Popular not far from the hotel; we took money from the ATM without any problem. From airport we took a bus to the Rail Road station and then subway (yellow line). There are a lot of steps, so if you have a heavy suite case and cannot carry it, then better take a taxi to hotel. The subway tickets are sold by machines, but there are station attendant who speaks English. If someone tries to help you, be aware it's not free and the guy will try to take your change from machine. Be prepared to eat mostly pizza, pasta; quality varies, but we are there to see the art, not to eat : ). We brought a book "25 places to see in Milan", very useful.
“Worth a stay”
Nice hotel. A nothing spectacular. Great breakfast. A little expensive for what you get, even by Milano standards.
“Can't wait to go back.”
Excellent hotel in every respect. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Milan.
“parfait”
accueil parfait, tre bien situe; parking un peu cher
“First Milan visit”
It is a nice hotel. Had a lot of European visitors. The staff were very efficient.
“very good location”
good hotel!!
“Great location”
I reserved this hotel based on previous reviews on Expedia, and I have to say that I was extremely pleased. The hotel is walking distance from La Scala and Duomo in one direction, the Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Natural history in the other, as well as many shops and boutiques. More importantly, it's in a nice (safe) part of town. For lovers of luxury goods, the hotel is a 2-minute walk to Via Della Spiga, a far more posh version of Rodeo Drive. The room was clean and comfortable. The service was also great. They offer free internet in the lobby, which is most convenient if you're not traveling with your own computer. Overall, I had a fantastic stay, and would stay there again due to its proximity to so many attractions.
“Wonderful location”
We were so pleased with the location of Hotel Cavour. We were attending LaScala the night we arrived and it was just a few blocks away. We were able to walk both to and from the opera at night and also to many places we wanted to visit in the daytime.
