Boutique HotelPosted 28-Oct-2014
Pros: The roof-top restaurant, bar and pool area.
Cons: We requested an upper floor room but the only room available was on the first floor which was just below street level.
Location: Easy Uber ride to the Hollywood Bowl, not far to the Getty Museum and other LA attractions and restaurants.
My wife and I planned this get away weekend in LA for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and a day at the Getty Museum. The Petit Ermitage was the perfect definition of a "Boutique" hotel. It was charming, the staff was extremely pleasant, and the service was exceptional. The 4th floor roof-top restaurant, bar and pool provided a classy LA experience without the craziness of LA crowds. We definitely feel we have found a hidden gem.

Dark & Dingy !Posted 21-Oct-2014
How did this hotel get such a high rating ?! I would give this hotel 2.5* & that's only because of the location & good water pressure in the shower ! It's like a creepy haunted house with amenities & nothing to make the guest feel welcome. The staff are just kids & will not make eye contact. I needed a hair dryer & asked twice & it never came. There are no stores, coffee shops within a comfortable walk. The lighting is terrible in the room. Save yourself the misery & book the Andaz hotel on sunset blvd like I should have :(

Very comfortable hotel, but not a great locationPosted 8-Oct-2014
Pros: helpful staff and the size and cleanliness of the bedrooms
Cons: clearer instructions on how to control the temperature in the rooms!
Location: already explained in my overall experience
This hotel was very clean, tidy and all staff were helpful and friendly. However, the location of the hotel was a little awkward as we were at least a 40 minute bus journey from Santa Monica and an hour's walk from central Hollywood. We were fortunately close to a supermarket which sold a huge variety of food, but we struggled to find any restaurants for evening dining which were within walking distance of the hotel. In conclusion, a great hotel if you're happy to stay there for the entirety of your trip or have enough money (or a car) to travel to the various tourist attractions in the area.

Great location. Wonderful experience. A pleasurePosted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, ambience, friendliness and "something different".
Location: The location was excellent. A block away from the action on Santa Monica it's convenient yet quiet. Proximity to restaurants, clubs and stores.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay end of August 2014. The hotel was beautifully located in a quiet back street and perfectly located in LA for our needs. The staff were attentive and friendly we felt really at home. We loved the rooftop decks and pool with the marvellous views. Really cannot recommend Petit Hermitage enough. The eclectic fit out of the hotel was a welcome relief from the usual cookie cutter hotel decor. It's definitely not the cheapest place in town but certainly the cost is more than offset by the quality and ambience of the place. We certainly had no regrets about our stay and shelling out the bit extra.

Love this place xPosted 14-Sep-2014
After booking this hotel I decided to read reviews whilst waiting for my flight at the airport. Do not read the negative reviews for this hotel, these people are incredibly fussy because I did not encounter one negative during my stay, Hotel staff are by far the best hotel staff I have come across. Rooms are amazing and incredibly spacious. Very clean. Great facilities. Loved the decor and bohemian feel. Ideal location is West Hollywood. A must stay in LA.

Pros: nothing really
i was very disappointed in the conditions of the hotel for the level of stars. I will not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone i know - unless i didn't like them. The elevator's floor was torn up. The room was only OK at best - the cabinet where the mini bar was located was in complete disrepair and a mess. Over all the condition of the hotel and staff did not warrant a 4 star - this was a better rating for a 2 star.

The Suite was Excellent and Food AmazingPosted 25-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We arrived to a wine and cheese happy hour in the charming courtyard. The breakfast the next morning was even better. We stayed in the suite which was spacious and made you feel like you were really in the countryside. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

quirky, beautiful hotel in great locationPosted 21-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
from the moment you arrive i the lobby you can tell this is going to be a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly. The room 612 was superb with a lovely with a great little balcony with a street view and just 20m from the pool on the roof. We had dinner on the roof too, which was delicious, although a bit pricey, but watching the sun set over LA was a perfect end to the day... before we ventured out to the Laugh Factory comedy club. Before you leave, use the toilet downstairs to the left of the reception - that alone is an experience!
