“Great Hotel in a great part of town”

Wonderful hotel and staff, but if you're a guy it might take you a while to get a drink at the bar.

“Great hotel in a Great location”

I was visiting to with my daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday. I wanted a hotel with a trendy (young) feel that my daughter would enjoy but yet professional that I would not feel out of place. The Mayfair had a wonderful balance, and we loved their location within walking distance to great shopping and dining.

“WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED”

IT WAS HARD TO FIND. HAD GOOD BUS AND UNDERGROUND LOCATION. DID NOT THINK THE HOTEL WAS WORTH THE MONEY. THE ROOM COULD HAVE BEEN HAD ALITTLE MORE TO IT. THE BATHROOM WAS SMALL AND YOU HAD TO MOVE THE MAT TO OPEN THE DOOR. I KEPT BUMPING INTO IT. NO HOOKS TO HANG ROBES, NITEWARE OR TOWEL ON. THERE WERE NO DRAWS IN THE NIGHT STANDS OR IN THE BATHROOM. NO ICE BUCKET OR LUGGAGE RACK. IT JUST DIDN'T SEEM LIKE A 5 STAR HOTEL. WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY NICE AND HELPFUL.

BATH WAS INTERESTING. THE CITY OF LONDON HAS SO MUCH HISTORY.
Getting there
WE MADE OUR TRANSFERS ON THE INTERNET BEFORE WE LEFT. THEY WERE THERE AND ON TIME.
Shopping
THERE IS SO MUCH SHOPPING. STORES EVERYWHERE.
Nightlife
WE SAW A PLAY IN SOHO. WHEN WE LEFT ABOUT 11 PM THE STREETS WERE PACKED WITH PEOPLE. THERE SEEM TO BE EVERYWHERE. THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE SO HAVE SOME CREDIT CARDS WITH YOU.

“Not satisfied”

The May Fair is being remodeled, so it has no restaurant for now. Breakfast is served either in the Ball-room or in the Bar. We had asked for connecting rooms since we were travelling with two children, but not only there were no connecting rooms available, we had to spend the first evening in different floors!

“Will never stay there again”

Almost everything in this hotel is below five star standard. The bathrooms has only bath tubs that are so deep it is a struggle to get out of, while water seeps out while one showers. The TV is tiny and has very limited number of channels. The elevators are antiquated and takes a long time to arrive. The breakfast room keeps changing from day to day without warning, and quality of the food is below standard. The overall color scheme in the rooms is so pale and depressing, and there is lobby in the hotel to meet guests. I know now I will never repeat this experience.

It is unusual to receive a comment regarding the height of the tub in our bedrooms although I am pleased to say we do have options for you should you be returning. I am pleased to report to you that we are already softly refurbishing our bedrooms and guest floor corridors well ahead of schedule given we officially re-launched in 2006. We are introducing a touch of colour to our bedrooms at the same time. We do already offer no less than 120 free TV channels to choose from in our guest bedrooms. It is concerning that you found the breakfast buffet of poor quality, a newly expanded and much improved buffet breakfast served each morning commenced in May and we hope that you will be able to experience this on a future stay. I do hope that you may have the opportunity to visit us again. “Too expensive for the quality”

The bathrooms are so cold. The carpet hasn't been clean since a long time ago. Full of spots. The prices arehigh and the buffet is not special.

I am pleased to report to you that we are already soft refurbishing the carpets in some bedrooms and also all guest floors public areas this year. I am sorry that you did not find the temperature of the bathroom to your liking; this is most disappointing to say the least. Each bathroom has a towel rail which is usually in good working order. “Noisy at Night”

Hotel material condition was very good. I would never go back. It sounded like the people in our next room were in our bathroom. The walls did not keep the sound out at all. Corridor was also noisy al night with party goers. Could not sleep.

“London's fabulous hotel”

“One of London's best hotels.”

Excellent service, exquisite food and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a London hotel.
