“Close to Tube”

Nice neighborhood. A block from the Underground. Small shopping mall nearby. Comfortable hotel room and choice of firm or soft pillows. Helpful staff.

“Will recommend to friends and family”

This hotel is in the perfect location. You are literally a block away from Russell Square tube station. There's a pavilion 1/2 away that includes boutique shopping, inexpensive yet trendy restaurants (pubs with fish and chips, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian), a big upscale grocery store, a pharmacy, and a view of the locals. Around the corner there's a less expensive grocery for bread, cheese, water, beer, etc. The University College London is a couple blocks away along with the free entrance to the Museum. Our hotel had these amazing sheets and feather bed cover, 4 pillows, cable, wireless for 15 pounds/24 hours (pretty standard in London), room service. If you're sleeping in in the morning (especially after an overnight flight from the US) don't forget to put the 'don't disturb' sign outside your door. I highly recommend this hotel and will use it in the future.

“Great Value for Money - Will Definitely Go Back!”

Really convenient for the tube, very clean & the most spacious room (& with a bath too!) that I've had in London in recent visits. Plus it was actually cheaper than I've paid elsewhere before!

“Good option for weekend break in London”

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury for one night last weekend. Very conveniently placed within walking distance or short tube/bus ride from Kings Cross Station. Also very handy for onward travel to/from the city centre. As London hotels go, our room was pretty quiet and free from traffic noise as the hotel is located on a relatively quiet side street. We arrived before 2pm so were not able to check into our room right away but we were able to leave our luggage in the luggage room. We were also able to do this after checking out of the hotel the following day, which was much appreciated. Our room was clean and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. We chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel and instead walked to Toscana Cafe on Southampton Row for a much cheaper alternative. We were most satisfied with the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury and would stay there again.

“Excellent Experience”

Excellent hotel with large (for London) modern room and bathroom. Excellent and friendly service. One block from the Russell Street Underground Station which is on the Piccadilly Line which services Heathrow Airport. An easy 45-60 minute ride. Depending on where you want to go in London, you may need to make one or two transfers to other Underground lines. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Holiday Inn Home Run!”

We had requested early check-in and while the room wasn't ready when we arrived at 8am, it was ready after we had breakfast. The front desk staff were always very helpful, especially Amari. While there were no ice machines in the hotel, room service brought a bucket of ice any time we wanted one at no charge. The only hotel issue was not getting clean glasses/cups each day. When we mentioned it to them, they promptly fixed it. The breakfast plan was reasonable for a full-English and we really enjoyed it. The quality was excellent. The pub in the hotel was noisy and full of a much younger crowd, but the one across the street, while a bit noisy too, had excellent food. I had a steak, ale & mushroom pie that was to die for! We were right around the corner from a tube station which was right across the street from a convenience store. We were a block off of Russell Square which made for very quiet neighbors. The rooms were very quiet and we seldom even heard a door shut. The elevators were quick and functional. The concierge was very helpful. I'd stay here again. The entire staff was great. Room service was very good. I didn't expect to get handmade pizza at a Holiday Inn in London - it was very good !

“Ms”

The diversity of the staff is interesting, but would have preferred having check-in by someone who spoke English as their first language. This was also a slight difficulty when I had to request something from the housekeepig department- after speaking to the same (?) person who checked us in, I had to be transferred to someone "English" to be understood. Speaking "American", I still had some misunderstanding and had to call an hour later to get what I needed- an extension cord to plug in a piece of medical equipment. Other than that (and the simply awful fish and chips at the hotel's restaurant - not to be recommended) the staff was very nice and did an excellent job.The room was excellent - although the view wasn't great, The bathroom was great! This is one of my pet peeves about hotels. I always seem to get a bathroom with leaks, craks, showerheads that fall of, etc. This was the cleanest, nicest bathroom of all hotels. The faucet on the tub was a little hard to figure out, but once I did- oooh! I'd recommend this hotel just for the bathroom!

“Great location!”

The hotel was ideally located a block from the Russell Square tube station. The Russell Square tube station is on the Picadelly Line which is a direct link to Heathrow so it was very convenient to travel to and from the airport and around London. The neighborhood was terrific and just a block away was a little outdoor mall with covenient shopping, restaurants and a farmer's market. It is very safe to walk around the area late at night as there is lots of activity. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff was very accomodating and the conceriege staff very helpful in finding theatre tickets and making restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay at the same hotel, at the same location again.
