“très bon rapport qualité-prix”
hotel très bien placé car desservi par le metro et de nombreuses lignes de bus. Nous étions une famille avec 2 enfants et la chambre etait confortable. Le restaurant est de bonne qualité, de ce fait nous y avons pris tous nos diners. La piscine, sauna, hammam est très agréable quand on a beaucoup marché. le petit déjeuner MIAMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!
“Just right!”
This hotel is very convenient, clean, and comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. Purchase it with the room. The lounge does not serve outsiders after 11 pm so it is quiet and congenial in the late evening.
“Close to the tube”
We vacationed here from June 19 - June 25, 2010. We liked that the tube (subway) was very close. The room was very nice with new towels everyday and maid service. We enjoyed the 20th floor. The breakfast buffet was good but crowded at times. The hotel is very big and has 3 towers. There is a mix of business people and 'holiday' people. The only thing we felt was a problem is there wasn't enough restaurants in walking distance. We did go to Caffe' Uno and enjoyed an Italian dinner. We had dinner at the hotel the first night and it was satisfactory to us but we didn't want to dress up every night. There is a grocery store down the street for beer and snacks. We used the indoor pool a few times and it was good. The Conceirge was helpful. We are enjoyed our stay here at the Hilton London Metropole.
“loved the experience”
myself and 5 friends stayed in two quad rooms, which were very spacious and clean, views over london were fantastic. i had never stayed in such a large hotel and thought it might be a bit impersonal, but the friendliness of all the staff changed my opinion. very centrally located, we could walk to a lot of the attractions
“Centre for everything to do in London”
An excellent base to stay if you want to 'do' London - being on the central line it got you everywhere with 2 tube stations being within minutes of the hotel. Front desk could direct you anywhere with directions in seconds - excellent service.Resturant staff were very good and nothing to much trouble. Pool an excellent perk although got a bit crowded with lane swimming and a lane out for swimming,
“Will stay at this Hotel again it was Central to Everything”
Central to Everything very Clean Staff Very Helpful..
“Good hotel, very close to Underground”
Room was very nice, albeit a bit small but it is to be expected in London center. We could see the hotel from the tube station, it was so close. It is just north of Hyde Park so you could walk from the hotel to the center (Buckingham Palace) in about 30 minutes. Not much variety of restaurants in the area besides Middle Eastern (although we had a nice Lebanese dinner). Breakfast buffet in hotel was pretty standard stuff, although I will say the staff were very attentive and friendly - more so than in other places. Also, we stayed late in the sports bar watching a game one night and the staff let us stay until after closing to see the end.
“Much better than I anticipated”
We had an excellent stay. I was a little worried after reading some reviews, but we stayed in the older section of the hotel and the rooms were still very nice. This hotel would most likely be rated 4 stars even by American standards. The location is right on the edge of a middle-eastern neighborhood (which was no problem with me - there were some great shwarma/kabob spots right down the street). It is within a 10 minute walk to Paddington station, and both Edgware road Underground stations (yes, there are 2 separate ones) are less than a block away. My only complaint is the bed - the King bed was really 2 twin beds pushed together, which means that you end up sleeping several feet away from your significant other just for comfort reasons. That might be fine for some, but I would opt for a queen instead if travelling as a couple. I would certainly stay here again.
