“Just 'cause couldn't find anything else”
I booked the day before so blame me for the poor choice, the price was quite high and the quality low, but not the lowest. The staff was helpful and breakfast was included and delivered at the correct time in the morning. I wouldn't recommend this to my picky friends, but it is acceptable if yourself are not too picky and need a place to stay for max 1/2 nights.
“Great location BUT never staying there again...”
Strengths: good location close to Underground line, Kensington Palace, and in a nice neighborhood. Weaknesses: There is no elevator, which was a problem for my mother with limited mobility. In the morning, there wasn’t always cold water, meaning that showering was impossible and even a simple task such as teeth brushing was unpleasant when having to use very hot water. Then, the knob in the shower to control the water temperature was broken. I was told it was fixed twice, but apparently they just tightened the knob without making sure that it was fixed. On the second day I complained about it not working, I was sent to shower in another room…a DIRTY room! The prior guest’s dirty towels were still in the shower. I was offended by this and went for another day without a proper shower. Furthermore, the staff was unwilling to help with any type of booking of activities. When asked if they had an adapter for the electrical outlet…yes, they had one for sale! I had never been asked to pay for an adapter at a hotel before. The hotel is also on a busy street, with a bar right below, which meant noisy nights. One night there was street work until 3am. Overall, the stay was unpleasant and I would never stay here again.
“Even Worse than Expected”
This hotel is nowhere as nice as their website and expedia makes it look. The room was ridiculously hot, the nasty fan that was provided didn't work and looked like it had been retrieved from a dumpster, the window opened on to the roof of another building that looked like a rat den, and the shower was cold. As a trend had developed, I didn't attempt breakfast. For the rate, and a standard room in central London, it seemed too good to be true...and it was. Avoid staying here; but if you do, spend plenty of time in the pub before retiring to your room because, either way, you'll feel awful in the morning. I travel all the time and this is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write.
