“Overall good value, unless light sleeper........”
Good value for money. No double glazing in bedroom, with busy road outside, so not ideal if you are a light sleeper! Otherwise, can't complain. (I did not have breakfast in hotel, as nice Nero coffee shop few yards away).
“Not Exactly As We Expected”
Would have been better if we could have stayed in the main building.
“OK hotel near Victoria Station”
Friendly helpful hotel staff, in reception and breakfast area. Breakfast was ok, we preferred continental breakfast anyway, with some scrambled eggs. Baked beans and mushrooms don't appeal to me as breakfast items, some people seem to like them. The room was ok, very small, but we expected that. We were on third floor and the noise from people in the hallways, checking in or out, really carried through to our room. Hotel was convenient to Victoria Station and tube station, walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc.
“Served it's purpose”
This hotel was very inexpensive for London and was pleasantly surprised that it was clean. We spent very little time in the room (only to sleep) so it was fine.
“Average at best.”
Check-in was smooth enough. We stayed in a room in the main building. Three people in a room with a double and a sofa bed. The room was OK but the sofa bed was absolutely brutal to sleep on. There was next to no padding, just row after row of springs in my back. The double bed wasn't much better. The bathroom had no shower, just a bathtub that was under a staircase. The room was clean and the location is great but the management doesn't seem to put much effort into comforts. Wi-Fi worked fine. Average at best.
“Old, ugly room”
After spending three weeks of living out of hotels in different European cities, I was very happy with all of our choices except for this one. Our room was in the annex and it was horrible. The room was old looking--orange and brown decor. Even our towels looked old--they were threadbare. When we left our towels on the floor for replacement, they hung them back up and didnt give us new ones. The walls and floors were very thin and we had loud neighbors both nights. The hotel was absolutely depressing. Not what you would expect from a Best Western.
