Nice hotel but it just not my night

Posted 14-Apr-2015
Pros: Near to shopping mall and jetty to island. Friendly staff allowing me to extend 2 hours of my stay for free due to bad night experience.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room and sound proof for room above the lounge.
Location: Walk to the jetty and find a boat to the islands for swimming and snorkelling. Walk to gaya street to sunday market. Tour agent available at hotel.
I was given room 506 which is above their lounge. Not able to get good sleep as they have life band until 12.00am daily. Request for another room but fully booked therefore had to stay in the same room. Early morning before 6am you can hear the workers arranging the table and chairs and cutleries downstairs. So quality sleep in the room is zero. The carpet need to be changed as it stained badly and so does the cabinet door. No slippers provided which caused me to step on a used stapler bullet that was not cleaned from the carpet.

Great hotel for the money.

Posted 12-Apr-2015
Pros: Value, comfort, location
Cons: Replace the carpet in rooms and clean the walls
Location: Shopping, markets, diving, restaurants, tour agencies in building behind hotel.
The hotel is centrally located in KK. Easy walk to the waterfront, markets, shopping, etc. Five minute walk to Jesselton Point for boats to diving and outlying islands. The room was decent sized with a clean, comfortable bed and cold A/C. The carpet could use replacement and the walls needed to be cleaned - other than that the room was fine. Bathroom was large and clean. Hotel staff was friendly and gave us a room upgrade upon check-in. Also, we checked in 2 hours before check-in time with no problems. Free breakfast was fine. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for its value, comfort, and location.

Convenient Hotel in KK town

Posted 5-Apr-2015
Acceptable room cleanliness, toiletries a bit insufficient (no tooth brush & shaver). Friendly front desk, has a nice live band bar on ground floor, 10 mins walk to gaya street, easy access to ATM, convenient stores etc. We do enjoy the stay. Will definitely recommend. Cheers!

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros:

Close to shopping centres and a view of the sea

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: That it was central and easy access to many places.
Cons: I think if they had a pool area would have been good to relax around as the sea isn't for swimming on this side. Also rooms need a refresh and hotel.
Location: Location is perfect for shopping and walking. You have two large shopping malls nearby Suria Sabah and Wisma Mardeka. Many good cafes and restaurants.
Gaya Centre Hotel was perfectly situated in the city centre and was an easy walk to many places such as the shops, markets and jetty. Hotel staff were polite and very helpful at all times. Our room had a view of the sea which was lovely to wake up to. It was standard as was mentioned in the description, but a little run down. Clean enough, though carpet was stained and old, bedding was okay, towels were okay. Not a lot of space in the room to put two cases but we managed. Air conditioner worked very well. The television was also okay with the channels provided. We had a few English channels the rest were in Malay. Hot water was excellent. Our breakfast was a good selection and always plentiful. We also ate in the hotel a few times and the meals were fresh and lovely. Prices were good too. Any requests we had, were dealt with which was great they were very accomodating. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
