The Lancaster Hotel lobby recalls a British country house, with a profusion of flowers and elegant, antique-style furnishings. Drawing both hotel guests and theater-bound locals, the Bistro Lancaster serves Gulf Coast-influenced American bistro fare in a lovely setting on the hotel's ground floor.

Intimate room seats 65 for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, cocktails, and is popular for pre-theater dining, post-theater coffee and cocktails. Open early morning till late evening.
Room Service - A limited menu is available 24 hours-a-day.

“Cozy, Old Houston charm”
When we arrived, the temperature was over 100, so there was no valets or bellhops to be found outside. Once we stepped inside, it was like a beehive had awoken. Great service from front desk to housekeeping. No ice machines, but housekeeping kept ice in our room. Big, comfortable bathroom, but room itself was a little small as are most hotels of this era. Upon our return for the evening, a valet asked if we were just staying for a bit, but we had to announce we were hotel guests. Never had that before.
“Absolute Elegance at an affordable rate”
We loved our stay. Everything and everyone were top notch and excellent in every dealing we had with them. The availability of a car service is such a nice touch.

Whenever I,m downtown Houston I stay at the Lancaster. It is a nice hotel and it is close to everything downtown. The price is reasonable.

Hotel conventiently located to theater district. Close to rail line to museums and other districts. Complimentary shuttle within city limits. Great place, friendly, clean, comfortable. Close driving to Galvaston, Kema and other places. Enjoyed downtown history. A great weekend get away. We enjoyed a night at the theater too.
“What a lovely room I had in Houston”
Very pretty room, the most luxurious linen I ever slept in, windows that open, right across the Jones Hall, and the nicest staff. Travelling in the South never disappoints.
“The only hotel we'll stay at in Houston”
We love the Lancaster - even if we can't stay overnight - we'll stop in for a drink in their wonderful cozy bar. What other hotel has live plants, fresh potpourri and always remembers you? The staff are so gracious and professional. It's the only hotel for us!

I really was not expecting to like this hotel, but the staff was wonderful, my room was clean and tidy and the location was superb. I had a great stay here and recommend it to other budget travellers who appreciate an older, but clean place to lie their head.
“Beautiful Luxury Hotel in Downtown Houston”
The draw to the Lancaster is it's small size. This allows for a true luxury experience. The service is great and the discount through expedia (vs. direct) was unbelievable. Would definitly go back if deal was as good next time.
