“Good hotel in Wan Chai”
We stayed at this hotel not expecting much and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The room was on the small side, which is usual for HK but it was very clean, bed linen and towels changed every day, the bathroom was ok and no problems. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a budget hotel. It was a short walk to the trams and buses stopped outside the hotel every 2-3 mins.
“Nice Quaint Hotel”
Hotel services and personnel were excellent. The room was a little bit smaller than I expected but a nice place to stay. I was pleased with the hotel over all.
“Can't wait to go back”
Employees were very courteous and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and noiseproof.
“Perfect!”
The Charterhouse was a perfect choice. Clean, comfortable, comparatively not expensive, of a very good standard for three stars (I stayed in the superior room). Received complimentary fresh fruits in my room and the newspapers everyday. It is conveniently located, the staff was helpful and friendly, there is the possibility to connect to the internet in the room, there is a shuttle bus to the airport, the bathroom was clean, the shower head was great, the matress was very comfortable, the mini bar was reasonably priced. Really I have only two slightly negative comments to make: the television was a bit awkwardly placed and a little small; the main hotel restaurant was closed when I stayed and the sports pub in the basement doesn't really serve healthy food... I strongly recommend this hotel, if you can get it at the right price of course.
“good standard budget hotel”
We stayed at charterhouse hotel for 2 weeks between 31st May and 8th June 2007. The hotel is based at a very convenient location. we have discovered that after a few days staying there). A taxi ride to/ from Central was only HKD $18 and we definitely took advantage or enjoying the nightlife in Hong Kong. The hotel is very clean, very comfortable and all staffs are very friendly and professional. We have booked the hotel last minute, but we got the room we have requested and an excellent deal through Expedia. We have recommended some friends to stay there and we will not hesitate to recommend any other friends/ travellers to stay at this hotel.
“Charterhouse a pleasantly consistent option”
This is my second stay at the Charterhouse and once again the service was top rate and the of course the great location doesn't change. The front desk/check in process is as helpful/painless as you'd expect from a boutique hotel. Stayed on the 'Signature Floor' this time which is worth the additional money. Breakfast which I didn't initially care for (but bundled into price) turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I'll be back at Charterhouse for my next visit to HK.
“Causeway Bay Hotel”
very good location and price but was charged for water at check-out which we weren't informed at check-in. We paid but not happy about it.
“very nice little hotel”
As with a lot of Hotels in Hong Kong it was built by the British. The rooms are rather small, but not cramped. Lots of wood and nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable enough with plenty of blankets. I stayed in a 'single' as I was only there one night by myself. It will be interesting to see what a 'double' is like when I go back through HK in Feb. as I will have my wife with me at that time. Good location, close to Times Square and all.
“Kong size between Central and Wan Chai”
It was a tipically Hong Kong sized (KONG size :-) Hotel. I mean not too big. The price was normal, the room was kept truly clean. The business room includes free and stable internet access. The air condition temperature is - just like at other places in Hong Kong - runs in deep frost mode, can be set to none. The TV (if you can call a small sized laptop screen a TV) is not free, I couldn't wake up one single channel to watch. The staff is very helpful, speaks English, the location is really good, so generally I can recommend this Hotel.
“Can't wait to go back”
Superb service and a great overall hotel. Loved the location as well.
