“Pleasantly surprised”
The interior design of the room was superior, with convenient features and great finishes. The bed was comfortable and importantly the blinds blocked out the light very effectively. Particularly liked the rainfall shower and the internet connectivity speeds. We would recommend the Harbour Club upgrade as the buffets at breakfast as well as cocktails hour were terrific. The staff were courteous as is expected in Hong Kong, but we were surprised at how we were recognised and remembered during our visit.
“Excellent Hotel”
Received a room upgrade on arrival. Staff were very obliging. Room was well appointed and had a great view of the harbour. Didn't use the restaurants or bars but all looked excellent and the view from the 188 degrees restaurant on the 41st floor is spectacular. The only downside is the neighbourhood is not the most desirable, but the hotel is very near to the metro station so it isn't really an issue.
“grand on the harbour indeed”
we did have one reservation however with the miserly quantities of food we were given in the in house chinese restaurant, £48 and we were still very hungry.one main course came with the soup starter and when asked to be kept warm it came back ten minutes after the fried rice which was by that time cold, the staff were not good with english,so sorry guys only 4/10.
“very nice hotel at reasonable price”
nice hotel very close to subway and bus station.
“Not to be missed”
This is a 'not to be missed' hotel. Slightly out of the way but only a 2-minute walk to the MTR and Island trams. Try and get on the Club Floors (33-40) and you get breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktail hour in the Club Lounge on the 41st floor. Free internet access and wireless access in the Club Lounge too. We weren't told this prior to arriving, only that wireless access was available in our room at a cost. However, the hotel was fantastic and we loved it. Room service (we only used it to obtain ice) was very quick and the system of lights which told staff we were not to be disturbed or make up our room was very impressive. The lifts were a bit slow in coming, but as we were on holiday there was no rush to get up or down. The immediate area is not too flash, but it's all a bit of fun anyway. A bit of construction work going on right below the hotel (no noise) which is fascinating to watch - land extension into the harbour. The chandeliers in the foyer are stunning - and the staff everywhere were smiling and helpful. Recommend this hotel to anyone.
“beautiful hotel”
This hotel is beautiful, and with terrific ammenities. However, it was the staff who made the stay unforgettable. It is also conveniently located 1 block from a subway stop, though when I needed a taxi, there were usually 2-4 staff hailing one for me. The upgrade to the premier room was well worth it as I had plenty of space, a rarity in Hong Kong. I also enjoyed the circular tub with the rain shower head on a daily basis. My hotel experience was wonderful. I would recommend it highly to others and I would certainly want to stay there again, even if I didn't get quite as good a deal on the room
“Great Hotel for the price”
Nice hotel, clean and new in a area with a few car repair shops. Rooms were clean and new. Only got a partial view of the harbor even with the extra upgrade. I would recommend this hotel for the price.
“Have already recommended it - faultless. Will definitely go back to it.”
I had not expected such a new (6 months old) and classy hotel. We were all utterly impressed and cannot speak highly enough. Service was great breakfast was excellent - proximity to MTR and shops and buses wonderful. Don't book anywhere else!
“Hong Kong's newest luxurious hotel”
This is an extremely nice hotel, but it is still too new and it does not necessarily have all of its act together. However, their staff is very polite and givecourteous. Once the hotel goes through their break-in period with the staff gaining exoerience, it should become one of the leading hotels and could become a 5 star. I have very high expectations and plan to stay their six months from now. I am sure it will straighten out its weaknesses, which are few, even at this point. The only thing that really bothered me was the slow elevator response time. There were times when I had to wait 5 minutes for an elevator to come. This probably cannot be fixed because the engineers and architects were probably not familiar with elevator distribution on a 42 story hotel building. The neighborhood is a few train stations away from the central district. There are not high end restaurants or shopping districts within walking distance from the hotel. The food in the hotel was excellent, but it gets a little boring eating inside the hotel during the entire stay. Maybe there will be some new high end restaurants that will open in the neighborhood in the future.
“Why stay anywhere else in Hong kong ?”
Excellent hotel in every respect. Attentive, helpful staff. Excellent, comfortable room with superb harbour view. Incredible breakfasts. Everything new, shiny and clean. Two blocks from MTR station and tram and bus stops - endless quick transport options for a range of destinations. Why stay anywhere else in Hong Kong ?
