“Fantastic stay”
This is well decorated distinctly contemporary looking hotel covered in glass. It has a nice restaurant. Hotel staff are very professional and friendly. Hotel offers fast internet connection and great service. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It has a tram-stop at doorstep. Dublin congress center is just a few minutes walk. Although the hotel is fairly close to the river, it does not have any river-view rooms. The only downside I can think of is a lack of shops and restaurants nearby. The neighborhood is located at the east end near dock area, and is probably still struggling after the economic downturn. Some half constructed buildings remains unoccupied. The wheel (like the London-eye) is next to the hotel, although nobody seems to ride it.The area needs some renovation, which will probably not happen before the economy gains some steam, but that's a different issue. The area is safe nevertheless.
“Ultra moderne”
Cet hôtel tout neuf est excellent à tous égards : chambre impeccable et confortable au beau mobilier de bois clair, gentillesse du personnel , bon petit déjeuner, situation parfaite pour la salle O2.
“would stay again next time i visit Dublin”
This was my second stay at The Gibson this year (previously stayed in January). The Hotel offers exceptional value. The rooms are perfect for a city break, spacious, comfortable, great bed and fantastic shower. I visit dublin (and Ireland) freqently and would rate this in the top two hotels. You are a little way out from the city centre, however with the Luas outside the door it is easy and quick to get about and everywhere is walkable (even in the cold and wet january weather!!). I can not praise the hotel enough. On our first stay we arrived early (10.30am) in the hope we could leave our bags there, however they had the room ready and allowed us to check in! After an early flight this made the break as it meant we could freshen up an dmake most of the day. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and will be staying when i return to Dublin. Thanks you The Gibson!
“Great Hotel - Would Recommend”
The Gibson Hotel is a beautiful new hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Checked in at around 11am despite check in being around 3pm which meant we could drop our bags off and start exploring Dublin. Luas is a stones through away from the Hotel doors and very regular, taking you to/near to all the relevant places. Would be the perfect location for anyone visiting the O2, you can walk there in 30 seconds! There is no sound polution whatsoever and a lovely market with great food was outside over the weekend. The area the hotel is in is still under a lot of development but this was not a problem. Room was immaculate, bigger than expected for a standard and the bathroom was great, especially the spacious shower! Kettle, sachets or drinks, hair dryer, iron and ironing board were all provided but tucked away so as not to spoil the contemporary, sleek appearance of the room. And the bed was huge!! This hotel certainly has the wow factor and I would recommend it to anyone who is either going to the O2 or who wants to see the sights of Dublin without being in the noisy centre of it all. It is a pleasant walk along the river or a short ride on the Luas.
“Absolutely Brilliant”
The staff were incredibly useful on the phone when we rang to warn we would be late cheking in and asking how best to reach them. The Hotel is the first stop in to the city from the airport, 15 min max, and the last stop out. So that was incredible as we arrived late at night on Friday and we could make the most of the day on Sunday as the tranfer was so easy. The hotel is also right opposite the tram Luas stop. 15min to the centre of town. So location is perfect. The room was amazing. very clean and spacious. It had a balcony and a full height window running along the whole side of the room. the bathroom was massive with both shower and bath. the bath was so big that both me and my boyfriend could lie down. and the shower had a rain head. At check out the staff we brilliant again, they looked up bus times for us, held our luggage while we went walking and changed our cash when we needed coins all without batting an eyelid. A great experience and if back in Dublin we'll definitely be back.
“Great stay in Dublin”
This was our first trip to Ireland from Philadelphia, and we had a great stay at The Gibson. The staff was quite attentive, especially Dexter who served us in the hotel bar. He went out of his way to provide a hand written list of "must see" spots in Dublin, Cork and other locations along our tour of Ireland. The room was clean upon arrival and maintained meticulously. City Center was a short ride on the Luas, located right out front of the hotel. Only runs till 1230 hrs. but we caught a taxi for under 10 Euros (in pouring rain) on the way back!
“Nicest Hotel Room Ever”
We stayed on the 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the O2. Beautiful clean room. Very nice hotel. The LUAS train stops directly in front of the hotel which was very handy to get you around the city.
“The hotel I've been looking for in Dublin!”
I stay in Dublin every week on work, and have stayed at a lot of hotels. I've rarely returned to the same one as they The Gibson is amazing. It is stylish and comfortable with great rooms and really good staff. They've thought of everything, all the little touches, like really good quality bed linen and towels, well equipped gym, and beautifully equipped bathrooms, and it makes it a relaxing and comfortable place to say. The luas right outside means that you can get to the centre of Dublin in less than 10 minutes, so this gets over the location.
“Gibson Hotel experience”
The Gibson Hotel was very contemporary - I loved the sliding door to the balcony and the retro decor of the hotel and rooms. The TV in the middle of the room was so cool! I was disappointed that the relaxation room was not open yet and the parking for the hotel was too expensive (I would have hoped it was free as all the other hotels we stayed at in Ireland had free parking) but otherwise, no complaints. The dinner was awesome - the best pork tenderloin I have ever had and the goat cheese appetizer was delicious!!! The chef even came out to meet us and check on our meal - first class service in my opinion! I loved that the hotel was located right on the first stop of the tram line which made touring Dublin very convenient and inexpensive - we were tired of driving so this gave is a new and inexpensive travel option! highly recommend this hotel!
“Superior in Dublin”
I was in Dublin on holiday. I found the Gibson Hotel on the Expedia website and thought I would give it a try after looking at the information provided by Expedia. My stay was absolutely fantastic. The new, clean, modern hotel is staffed with excellent, professional folks and is conveniently located near town center, easily accessible by the train which stops directly in front of the hotel.
