"Our hosts, Maria Eugenia and Jose, were amazing! Kind, informative, generous, helpful, I can't say enough about them. We stayed for four days, two couples in the larger home. It was spacious, each couple with their own bathroom. We ate most of our meals at home. Our comadre caught a cold right upon arrival. She had a comfortable place to read, rest and recover, while we enjoyed the pool and had such a wonderful outing in the boat on the Douro river. This was definitely a once in a life time...

"Everything was as advertised ,clean and functional. The host went out of her way to make sure that my experience was first class and it was. A big shout out to her neighbor who pitch hit for her When she hurt her leg. It’s very close to the train station maybe five minutes by car and it made the right into Douro very very easy."

"Fatima welcomed and attended to us as if we were family. Deonilde delivered fresh bread in the morning and did our laundry. The view was spectacular, especially poolside. "We spent a lovely week at Casa do Vimieiro. We were 2 couples, and the house was spacious comfortable, and clean. Susana responded to queries very promptly. The countryside is beautiful. My only caution is that driving in the area is not for the faint of heart. Also, people with mobility issues should avoid the house as there are many stairs and uneven steps going into the property. "Our family spent a week at this property and we cannot say enough good things about it. The house itself was spotlessly clean, the pool and view was amazing and the house, including the kitchen, fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There was lots of room for everyone in our group and each bedroom having its own bathroom was a big plus. We didn’t want to leave at the end of our stay and would not hesitate to return again!"

"This is a converted reception area for a winery. It has two gigantic tables and a sleeper sofa, plus as many rollaway beds as you need. The bathroom is small but serviceable. Pro: We liked the area. It's at the end of a gravel road and you're surrounded by grape vines, fruit trees, and garden. The owner was nice. Con: It was smoky (smelled of cigarettes). The ad said it had a washer, but it does not - the owner will do your laundry. He messed ours up. Beds are uncomfortable."

"We found the house easily. We loved the location. Lamego was close by with grocery stores, shopping and some lovely cultural sights. We were able to get to other places we wanted to see (Braga, Regua, Viseu) easily also. The kitchen was nicely equipped. We love to cook on vacation and this kitchen had all we needed.
