Love the Moxy. It’s just super sketchy around there. Never felt unsafe, gentrification hasn’t gotten that far up Meeting Street.

We loved stayed at the Moxy. The area surrounding is definitely up and coming but there were god restaurants just a short walk away and a quick Uber ride to the center of the city.

The Moxy was beautiful and contemporary. However, the staff with the exception of two women were unfriendly and not knowledgeable about billing procedures and locker storage for luggage. Be warned there are no closets, only pegs to hang your clothes on, no night stands and two under drawer beds for your things. They ran out of “free” coffee in the morning, but there was a Starbucks under the hotel. The outdoor patio was lovely, but it will definitely not be my choice of hotels if I return to Charleston. There were homeless people living in cars and a razor wire fence and broken cement was our view. It also was not very walkable to shops and restaurants just FYI. Ubers were readily available.

The hotel is new and nice. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There is a rooftop lounge area with a good view of the bridge. I rated it slightly lower for a few reasons. Most importantly, they "upgraded" us to a double queen room. This was a room with 2 queens, feet to feet, pressed againt the wall. For a couple who wants to sleep in the same bed, the person at the wall has to crawl over the other person to use the bathroom. It felt like a dorm room. As of now, there's a random $40 charge, so I think they upcharged us. Next important is location. I knew this was newer construction, but I thought the area around would be cleaned up, and thought there would be on site lot parking. The only place to pull in is directly at the valet location, so you're pressured to use the valet at $35/day, and trust me, you don't want to park anywhere around the hotel. We had a nice view of the homeless lady hanging out in her car all day on the side street. And lastly is the location as it pertains to downtown. It's a little bit of a hike to get downtown, but this is not the fault of the hotel, and we were aware of it beforehand.

Definitely a edgy vintage feel. Great indoor games a.d activities. With a full bar rooftop patio,and late night food. The staff was very kind and rooms are Definitely different small so always look at the srqft. Per room. But other then that it was a very nice vibe and mixture of ppl in a postive way.A good experience and a great. Atmosphere

The best part: Rooftop with lounge beds. Breeze was blowing and I took a nap. Overall clean and modern, nice shades with black out, but missing too many elements for me to go back. ***There in no closet - just hooks, only 3 hangers. Would be a nightmare for 2 people to try to hang their clothes on the hooks… there’s not even a luggage rack, so you have to put your suitcase on the floor like a college student. I felt like I was “roughing it”. AND: no coffee in the room!!! It’s the simply things that matter to me. It’s technically downtown but NOT easy walking - and definitely you are not walking home at night. Oh, one more thing - there’s no place to store luggage if your room isn’t ready… there are lockers but it’s a major hassle and very DIY - all the lockers were full when I arrived and staff put my bags behind the bar. I wasn’t crazy about that, but I had no choice. For the money I wouldn’t stay here again. ( I stayed over the weekend so my rate was over $400)

We are not unhappy. The room and hotel are clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we first took a walk, the area seemed a little sketchy, but we learned to deal with that. However, the rooms are spartan. There are no closets, no mini fridge to keep things cold, the desk is a joke. We can roll with the punches but it is fair to say we will not be back. I managed my clothes by putting them in different piles on the floor. Perhaps it is best for very young people,

Moxy is a Marriott hotel. We loved the vibe, employees and the community area with plenty of space to sit and relax, enjoy food and drinks (great bar!) and a lovely rooftop! Highly recommend!

The property was very nice the room was small the shower was awesome. The bar area and rooftop were very comfortable. The music that was there on Friday night was so loud it made go back to room. I wish I could have stayed on the rooftop and enjoy the view but I couldn't think. I couldn't believe I had to pay $35 to valet park. Especially seeing as though my hotel Bill was over $800 parking should be included my view from my room was overlooking the dumpsters not a good look. I won't be back to this hotel.

Very trendy and unique hotel. The only confusing part was the parking, you need to valet and then check in is on the 6th floor. Other than that it was a great stay in Charleston.

Very quirky hotel. Rooms are bare bones. No closets and not great storage.Pegs all around room to hang clothing on. It’s probably a perfect hotel for younger people and anyone that likes a minimalist style. The common area was very comfortable and the free Wi-Fi was a plus. Staff was very professional and friendly.

Beautiful hotel and in a nice area. Close enough to downtown but far enough from the crazier traffic. The hotel had an event going on the night we stayed and the vibes were great. 10/10 staying here again!
