"Lovely Place!"
Stayed here for 1 night while on Business in Malton. The first impression was excellent, from having plenty of parking available to the beautifully landscaped gardens; one look over the wall toward the river showed how much care had been taken over the recent refurbishment, the gardens were immaculate. The room was spacious with a nice modern en suite shower room, the TV had all free view channels and the room was perfectly clean. My room faced out onto the road but was excellently soundproofed with extra glazing, however, I was in a room at the top of the stairs so was subject to hearing every guest coming and going. I didn't dine in the evening but breakfast was great with lots of choice. I did look at the dinner menu but at £12 for a starter and £20 - £25 for a main course it was more than my overnight business budget allowed, or indeed more than I wanted to spend to dine alone. All in all, I had a great stay and will be back next year.

"A 150 year old county public house / hotel,"
A good value traditional country public house with 2 rooms for guests. We stopped for 1 night en route to York. Large en suite bedroom, the most comfortable king size bed ever. A second single bed for our daughter. No bar noise heard during the evening. We had a very appetising full English breakfast. Good conversation with the landlord and his wife. Beer garden, this would be great in summer. We intend to repeat our stay on our next visit to York, longer this time. I would recommend Thompson's Arms to anyone.

"Lovely, comfortable place to stay"
Stayed at the Wentworth Arms overnight. The room was clean and comfortable the bed was lovely! There was some noise from the bar downstairs but it was a busy Friday night however, it did not bother us at all. We had a lovely evening meal, 2 meals of Fish and Chips, or should I say Whale and Chips for £12. There was also a good menu but we chose the fish and chips, washed down with a lovely cold, white wine. The atmosphere in the bar/ restraunt was very enjoyable and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast did not disappoint either. All in all a lovely place to stay and conveniently situated for a walk into Malton. We will be going to Malton again next year and will definitely be staying here.

"Lovely family run pub hotel"
Lovely accommodating friendly hosts. Lovely big comfortable room. Nice atmosphere. Great food. The only downside was they didn't know we had booked but that was Expedias fault for not telling them!!! Luckily it wasn't a problem as they had a room available which they got ready for us whilst giving us complimentary drinks!

"Convenient for the pupose of our visit."
Easy to find without the need of a sat nav. Very friendly staff from the point of arrival at reception through until we left. Good food and service. The room was clean to a high standard and comfortable. For a change I found a bed I felt I could sleep in - in fact I had a great nights sleep. For the purpose of our visit the hotel was ideally situated and we will use it again for subsequent visits to the area. We would recommend it to anyone needing to stay in that area.

"Beautiful room, great service & excellent service!"
This was a last minute trip for us and we found this great hotel by chance on Expedia. The location is great as there are a number of places within easy driving distance. It is nicely situated off the main roads but is within walking distance of Kirkby Moorside. We couldn't have asked for better service, the owner met us at the car park and showed us to our room (bonus upgrade!!) and explained everything we needed to know - including local recommendations for places to eat. The room (four poster suite) was fabuous with a patio overlooking the farm fields (filled with lambs and ewes at the time of our stay). it had everything you needed, including milk in the fridge for a brew! Breakfast on both days was amazing, great home cooked food by Shiela which was served with due care and attention by Neil.
