“Modern and classic hotel in Clifton Village”
Rodney Hotel has a nice historical character, starting with its surroundings in the elegant neighborhood of Clifton Village. Very nice and updated dining room and bar, spacious garden, and completely modern (though small) rooms. Walking upstairs might be seen as a barrier for some who are not used to historic English hotels, but the staff carried my bags up for me which was appreciated (and not usually done in other hotels). Bed was comfortable, good desk for working, everything working well. Very good value for the price.
“Clifton gem”
Hidden away in a small Georgian terrace in the heart of Clifton, this hotel is a real find. Very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff, a private garden, imaginative restaurant and genuine period charm. Clifton's bars and restaurants are a short step away. Drawbacks: 20 minutes from the centre of Bristol, not much soundproofing in the walls, and plus-size travellers may have trouble in the shower. But I'm coming back.

The stay was great, however the room was very cold. When I reported this to staff and it was dealt with very quickly. Otherwise the hotel was friendly and clean and I had a lovely stay
“Shabby but OK”
The hotel is run down and cramped, like much of Britain. However, the service was good. They need to renovate!
