“Excellent Value”

Overall we were very happy with Capital Hotel. The lobby and restaurants were very pleasant, the staff all spoke English, and our room was beautiful. The location was perfect, being a short walk from Tien'anmen and Wang Fujing shopping. There were a few minor drawbacks: the AC didn't work, so I wouldn't want to be there in the summer time. For some reason our reservation through Expedia did not include breakfast, whereas it appeared most other travellers had breakfast coupons. However, I would definitely recommend it.

“Best Location in Beijing”

This hotel was in the perfect location. You have a 10 minute walk to Tianamen and the Forbidden city, 15 minute walk to Wanfujing. Taxi cab from the airport is around 12-13$. There is a scam at the airport and some of the uniform guys are in on it. Take a green and gold taxi and not a van. The lobby was fantastic, but not the rooms. The rooms were good except for the beds, which were rock hard. The internet service is over-priced, food is highly over-priced and not very good. There was a little surprised, in that they had a Dim Sim restaurant on the 2nd floor. It was very reasonable. There are convenient stores across the street and behind the hotel. Its very close to McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and a full-fledged supermarket. I would stay in this hotel but not eat in it. Food outside of hotel is available and very reasonable. Let the hotel employees get a taxi for you, it will be cheaper.

“Incredible value for money”

Very cheap for the level of comfort that you get in this hotel. Felt like home whenever we came back from a hard days shopping. Also fantastic location, which again makes the price of the hotel pretty incredible considering where it is alone. Will definitely go back and recommend it to everyone.

The room was first class and the price more than reasonable. There was an excellent breakfast available with many options: even the cost of this was very good. Although we did not dine in the hotel we enjoyed a barbeque supper in the Beer garden area. New travellers to China should note that the beds in hotels are usually very hard, but this did not spoil a good night's sleep.

“Would definitely use again”

No problems at check-in - staff were very polite, professional and organised. Had to put a 500Y deposit down which was returned on check-out. The room we had booked for was not available so we were upgraded and had a very large room. Really comfortable and actually felt almost too deluxe. The hotel itself is really expensive looking and clean etc. It's close to Tienanmen square and the subway which is very convenient. Our check-out from the hotel was 1.5 hours late and all we received was a call to ask if we were wishing to stay another night. There were no extra charges. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The rooms, public spaces, pool, restaurants and many other amenities are superb. The service was prompt and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!

I liked everything about Capital Hotel. There were many other international visitors staying at the hotel, so I was comfortable staying there alone. Due to my business, I often find myself in other countries alone, so feeling comfortable is important to me. My room was spacious and comfortable; the housekeeping did a consistent good job.

Good location with short walk to Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City. About 5 to 10 mins walk to subway. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Room was excellent, food & drink in the restaurants a little pricey but acceptable for a genuine 4 star hotel.
