"Great location 5mins walking to designer shopping"
We stayed 3 nights on vacation to the great wall. The taxi ride from the airport was about a 30mins ride and I wrote the hotel name in Chinese and the address since the taxi driver does not speak English, cost 80 RMB. The location is 5 mins walk to shopping area (Burberry etc.) and the night market were you see the foods and fried crickets, starfishs, and scorpions. The woman concierge desk was very helpful and explained the food at the night market was not fresh and to be cautious of certain things. We ordered room service and the food came quickly and hot. We did not have the buffet breakfast since is 250RMB=$40US. We order a la carte 2 eggs, bacons, hash browns, and toast for 45RMB=$7.20US. There is a Starbucks next building asked the concierge for a short cut walk. The Park Plaza hotel is next building and they do have a tour to the great wall cost 350RMB=$56 online price amazingtripchina.com. Take the Great Wall tour with the cable car (like the ski chair) up. There was another tour call Chinatourstailor same as Dragon Delight I did not try this tour. The Grayline tour cost 550RMB. The Jinbao99 restaurant in the hotel has an open kitchen and the food and services was very good. The room temp was fine and the bed was comfortable. I agreed this is a 5 star hotel same as the pictures on the web. I will be back.

"Superb hotel with old school elegance"
Definitely the must-stay hotel in Beijing. Total support for business trips, impeccable facilities, old school charm throughout. This is my new go-to place in Beijing, right next to Tienanmen. A TRUE 5-star.

"Comfortable, boutique hotel close to attractions"
I was travelling for business but thought the hotels in the business district both very expensive, rather bland or tired. I close The Emperor and then caught the subway to the business district each day (about 45 mins including the 20 min walk to the subway). I enjoyed the overall experience of this hotel and would recommend it. As it's next door to The Forbidden City plus close to other major tourist attractions in Beijing I could then do some sightseeing at the end of the business day.

"Modern, comfortable and convenient"
I booked our stay at Park Plaza my and my husband's first time in Beijing. The staff was super welcoming, warm and spoke English (which is a rarity in Beijing actually). The hotel room itself was spacious, comfortable and clean. Loved the modern look and feel of the place. Food was actually quite good! We had a club sandwich one night at the bar and also tried the breakfast buffet the morning we left. Location was convenient as well. It's across the street from a Starbucks. It's about a 5 minute walk away from the famous Wangfujiang night market. Also across the street at a mall is a famous Peking Duck restaurant called Da Dong. It's a bit on the pricey end but it's good for lean duck. Also loved that there's free wifi! Upon check in, they'll offer you an opportunity to upgrade your room for a fee. Includes breakfast and access to their lounge. We didn't partake in it because we wanted to have food outside of the hotel. Either way, it's a win I think. My ordinary room was more than satisfactory :) One tip: Would recommend having someone write the Chinese name of the hotel and address in Chinese if you plan on taking a cab to the hotel.

"Waking up by the Forbidden City"
It's got the greatest view ever among hotels I stayed so far! My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights there and it's his most favorite hotel in China. The location was great. 5 minutes walk to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujin (the major business district). 15-20 minutes taxi to major historic attractions (Temple of Heaven, Nanluoguxiang, Houhai etc.) except the Great Wall. The interior design was sooooooooo COOL. You got to be there to believe it. You wake up literally by the Forbidden City!!! (Also ask if they could give you free upgrade to the Forbidden City View room. Not sure if other rooms have the panoramic view too). Things to improve: As the hotel has been around for a while, the facilities were not the most up-to-date. Not many outlets to use, considering how many electronics out modern citizens have gotten. Shower handles were a little tricky to adjust to. Breakfast was mediocre. We ordered both the Chinese and Western ones. Overall it was awesome stay and we would like to stay there again next time we are in Beijing.
